Parents need to know that while JellyCar 3 is referred to by some as a physics puzzle game, it is really an extremely challenging platforming game with some physics elements. You need to navigate a gelatinous car from one end of a course to the other, but your vehicle bounces, wobbles, and skids in ways that make it incredibly difficult to control. That sort of challenge is the appeal of the game for many of its fans, but is likely to frustrate young kids who are attracted by the playful look of the app.
There's no denying that JELLYCAR 3 has an appealing look, clever sound effects, and a great concept (as did its predecessors), but unless you have the steady hands of a surgeon or the patience of a Zen monk, you're probably going to be frustrated by it. Oh, there's a nice bit of strategy involved, especially in later levels, as the obstacles on the courses become trickier and the paths less obvious. And the ability to design your own jelly vehicle is a fun addition. But it still feels way too hard. Then again, so did the first two JellyCar games, and they were huge hits. Basically, you need to enjoy the struggle. If you do, you'll get what you want here. If you don't, you may end up kicking your iPad. It's also odd that this third edition does not have the popular Level Creator that the second one did. Losing that creative aspect (and the ability to create a course you might actually be able to finish) seems like a big omission.
