Parents need to know that Light it Right is a game based on PBS Kids' The Greens, a web show about environmental issues. The game teaches children the importance of switching off lights in rooms that aren’t occupied.
LIGHT IT RIGHT is a little gem from PBS Kids Go!. This free educational app has players turning lights on and off in the rooms of a 2D house based on their (lack of) occupants. Flipping switches is as simple as tapping on a room. As the game progress things get slightly more complex. The number of rooms as well as the number of family members moving around the house increase. Eventually a cat enters the game, and players have to be sure not to leave the lights on in rooms just for him (felines have excellent night vision, after all). This app may be simple, but it ought to get kids thinking about power consumption in the home, which makes it totally worth the download.
