What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Look Again! is a puzzle game of visual perception. Players must identify the overlapping shapes in the center and find the correct images on the perimeter before time runs out. The app has links to other apps by the developer. Players will learn to identify and recognize various shapes, and to break down a bigger picture into its component parts. The app is simple to use, but each level is timed and there's no pause button during a level.

  • The game is simple to play: tap the images on the perimeter that are included in the center image, and then tap the center to see if you're right. On harder levels, perimeter images may rotate or be hidden, or both. However, the game has no pause button: once you start a level, there's no way to stop until you complete the level or run out of time.

Is it any good?

LOOK AGAIN! is a simple puzzle app -- the player is presented with an image in the center and 12 images surrounding it. The player must identify which shapes make up the image in the center before time runs out. At first, the game is very simple, with two overlapping shapes forming the center image. But as the game progresses, the perimeter images rotate, or blink on and off, or are completely hidden until selected. At very high levels the center image is made of three overlapping shapes.

The game isn't very complex but the different types of shapes can make it quite a challenge, particularly when the perimeter shapes are rotating around quickly. The game saves progress every five levels so players can start at a higher level. The biggest downside is the lack of a pause button, because once a level is started it won't stop until the player completes the level or loses.
