Parents need to know that this classic card game has an online multiplayer option that encourages kids to "make new friends" over the Internet. There are some safeguards in place to protect players, but parents should monitor kids' online interactions. For young kids, as long as you steer clear of the online multiplayer, this is a fun way to pass and play the game with family members or friends on the same device. The iPad-only HD version of the app includes a "one-device multiplayer" mode, which allows up to four people to gather around one iPad to play.
This children's classic is designed in appealing primary colors, like the cards. It's pricey, no doubt due to the network gaming option, but a good one to have on the phone for long lines and car trips. Playing is as easy or challenging as you want it to be. Choose a level and play the computer, pass and play with up to three friends, or be randomly matched with others online. And yes, you still have to "call" Uno or you lose points.
