It is not a love story but it is a story of love. Some people may find it boring and some may find it romantic. I personally found it really funny and romantic but I have to come up and admit that the ending is a bit disappointing.
I love this movie. It is a great romantic comedy. There was one kissing scene and one part when there in the shower. And the ending is dissapointing but realistic. 9+

I love this movie. Summer is a terrible role model, but also incredibly captivating in the way that she inspires one to follow their own path. To live their own life. Yet she cuts herself off from emotions, doesn't believe in love. It's full of great quotes, but don't mistake it for a love story. Really.
This movie is phenomenal. I watched it with my mother and she adored it too, the movie is not just about a couples relationship but what one can learn from a breakup. The message of the movie shines throughout it
This is a cookie-cutter indie romance, but it is by no means a romantic comedy. No! It's a seemingly charming comedy on the top, but it is littered with moments of heartache and break-ups that continually set the two main characters apart. It is an immature high-school styled drama that fails to impress. The friends of the Tom (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a weak, unromantic slob that falls for a girl (Zooey Daschanel). The music in this movie is very underutilized, whereas it could've been used to evoke emotion, but instead it takes a backseat. Tom's friends are there for comedic effect and to half-heartedly mentor him, but they disappear as the film goes on and it rips the film's meat off of the bone. He also takes advice from his little sister, which is sad in and of itself. It takes the American indie quirck used in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Science of Sleep and uses it in terrible places and it doesn't gell. The only interesting thing worth waiting for is the ending... because then it'll be over. Okay, it's not THAT bad. 2 STARS.
THIS is what going to the movies should be like....
This has to be THE BEST Independent movie of '09. Funny, adorable and it grabs your attention the moment you start watching - everything about it is fantastic. Acting is perfect - especially the lead performance by Joseph Gordon-Levitt! This movie = pure love. I would definitely watch it again - actually, make that over and over and over again.
