    • My highlights are:
    • Positive messages

    ---SPOILER ALERT---

It's funny and has a good message as both brothers at the end save the day by doing a good dead for god.

    My concerns are:
    • Inappropriate language

    Funniest Movie Ever!

This a very clever, funny musical/comedy. The only concern would be the language which is very strong but most kids can handle this movie iI think. If they are under 15 id say watch it with them the first time and if it gets too explicit in your opinion you can just shut the DVD player off.

    Blues Brothers review by Val

The Blues Brothers Genre: Comedy-Musical Setting: 1980 in Chicago, Illinois Stars: The main stars are John Belushi as Jake and Dan Aykroyd as Elwood Blues. Also famous actors in this movie were: Cab Calloway, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Steven Spielberg, Ray Charles and many others. Filmmaking: The Movie was produced in the summer 1979 in Chicago and surroundings. This movie is also famous for the lot car crashes, over 60 police cars were bought for each 400$, and most of them were destroyed during filming the movie. Plot: All begins after Elwood’s brother Jake was released of the jail, his first thought was: why is my brother meeting me with a police car? That was not enough, he also told him that he changed there old car for a microphone and bought this police car in an auction. Forceful, they went after Jake’s release to the child’s’ house were they grow up. Surprised they expert that the house is out of money and the church has no interest to save the building. After a religious vision, they decide to put the band back together, to can earn money with concerts. On there way to put the band together they make a lot of enemies, and even more after they finished it. Angry Nazis, a country band, a mysterious woman, the whole police of Chicago and even the army want there death. I recommend this movie to everybody who likes funny musicals or just want to see action in form of destruction. Jake and Elwood, the men in black, are also two very smart guys which like to make jokes but not in the way that it makes them stupid. I’m sad that you can’t see movies like that today. Of course the movie is old but its also timeless. That movie full of stars became a star by itself. -by Val a.k.a. cl0wnzee

    My concerns are:
    • Excessive violence

    Wow...

I saw a version where they censored the language, but if it's bad enough to make it R, well... The majority of it is comic. Barely 20 minutes in, I was having a hard time breathing because I was laughing so hard. The producers made fun of just how bad 2 wackoly silly goofballs can be. When they barricade themselves in a skyscraper, the Fire Depot. SWAT MP and more all come just to arrest two silly gooses. However, it used to hold the world record for most crashed cop cars in a movie (over 100)

    ok. well....

ok well where to start.. it is a very funny movie, but they say the f-word about every 2 seconds. plus there is violence, yet it is funny because it is sort of comical. i would not show this to your kid until they are at a minimum age of 10.

Good music, iffy violence and language

I have loved this movie ever since the first time I saw it. But I have to say, there is some questional material. Like the second half of the movie is all car chases and explosions and one character swears constantly. Jake and Elwood may be criminals, but everything is played for laughs. I'd recommend it for people 10+.

My favorite movie of all time.

To me, this is the funniest movie of all time. John Belushi's best performance of all time. I guess common sense media thinks kids have never heard bad language before, well think again.I bet the creator of this site probably was a nerd at school. Thats why he grades these classic movies so harshly.
