I saw this when I was 14, and honestly I think it's one of the best movies out there. Only thing that bothered me when I first saw it was the unconventional sex.

What Parents Need to Know
About Fight Club
Parents need to know that this movie is wayyyy cool in terms of style and flip cynicism, and it's also wayyyy lurid, twisted, and violent. Older teens can hopefully take the over-the-top, R-rated cult hit as a dark-humored novelty act. It derives from a novel by trendy author Chuck Palahniuk. You wouldn't want kids to use either as a blueprint for behavior, which includes hazing-style beatings, vandalism, and bombings.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about the cynicism and anarchy shown here. What pushes the main characters to behave that way? Why do the narrator and Marla have a fascination with self-help groups? How are the extremely flawed characters here somehow likeable?

Spectacular Film with a Novel Twist, but Way Too Graphic and Disturbing for Under 16.
This is a fantastic film; one of my favorites. The performances were astoundingly good. The story was amazingly thourough. And the twist... oh man! Mind-blowing! Up there with spectacular twists like the ones in The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Identity, etc. I enormously reccommend this film to any movie fan!

Amazing movie, but difficult to understand at a young age.
I watched it first when I was 11, and loved the plot twist, and I watched it again when I was 13 and understood it much better. Performed the chemical burn scene with my best friend for my 8th grade graduation speech. The violence is symbolic for something much deeper than just being a "man" and as a girl, i enjoyed it more than most of my male friends. amazing movie. the sex isn't anything that 12 year olds haven't seen before (the internet, their friends even), and i'm kind of desensitized to violence in general. great movie... just, great movie.

Super awesome!
I watched this movie when I was 12 and loved it. A few parts it was gruesome, and a brief sex scene. However the deep story and twist ending along with the brilliant characters make this one of my top 5 films.

Amazing!
I saw this when I was fourteen, my kids will too.
- I rate this title on for age 13 and give it
this would be ok for 13 and up. the worst part is the social behavior (which is very antisocial) and violence and language. sexual content is moderate and drug content is mild. for violence there are 2 graphic scenes.
- I rate this title off for age 2 and give it
Dang...
Fight Club is the ultimate guy movie. but um, helo did enyone else notice the graphic sex scene(even though it's very short). this movie is so awsome, I loved it, the end makes you feel good. a deffinet rent for a guy night, but women probubly wouldn't find it entertaning insted just gross. if your kid knows how these things work(sex) and knows not to repete the many bad words you WILL hear I'd say it's ok. this movie is so funny I LOVE it . deffinetly watch it!

Brilliance, if it floats your boat.
The book was fantastic on its own, and the movie Fight Club simply wraps both up into a nice soapy and satirical package. If the acting, the philosophy, and the infamous ending plot twist aren't enough to get you snared into this story, then there's always the flashes of Tyler (the deranged political activist of this story) and his pornography, the very original music, and even Ikea tables to reign you back in. Needless to say, this flick isn't for kids, unless you know them well enough. I first saw it at thirteen, and, not being easily shocked, got a grasp of the philosophy quickly enough and was able to look past the flashes of porn and the swearing and drinking and smoking and even the twisted characters to understand what was behind it. So, if your kids are more intellectual and you don't mind them seeing things such as this and think they're mature enough to handle it, then go ahead. It all, of course, depends upon personal opinion, but this movie is rated R for a reason, is all I'm saying. It's a thoroughly enjoyable movie, and don't let the title deceive you: this fight club is more than the usual testosterone battle that you'd expect - it's a whole world of testicular cancer, beautiful and unique snowflakes, and, of course, soap.
