This movie is very empowering for girls and mia is a strong role model, I love it!! But I also think there is quite a bit of kissing and flirting for a G movie. It's not nesscerly something I'd want a 3 year old to see.

What Parents Need to Know
About The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement
Parents need to know that this movie has scenes of social embarrassment and manipulation. Also, there are several kisses in this movie, including a couple of the "foot-popping" variety. Mia does discuss with her grandmother arranged marriages as a means to secure the throne, and there are revelations both about loveless marriages and marriage-less loves.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about how one's duty to oneself might conflict with another duty; for example, when Nicholas acts in such a way as to secure the best outcome for Genovia, in his view, but he does not act honorably. Also, they might want to discuss how perspectives on a tradition change for the better or worse. Finally, they might want to talk about the different relationships in the movie and what Mia might do in the months that follow the movie's end.

A kids' movie that I don't mind watching 50 million times!
My two year old loves this movie. I was very surprised. I had to explain to her that people might get hurt feelings if you say "shut up," but it's great besides that. A kids' movie that I don't mind watching 50 million times!
