    Excellent and Inspiring Movie

This movie is inspiring. It gives hope to those struggling, and shows the wonderful relationship between a father and son. I also like the message of showing a strong father figure, as usually it's the mother who is the strong figure in movies. Superbly acted by Will Smith, and a must see.

Amazing Movie for the Entire Family

Amazing movie---Will Smith's best to date. Some cursing but beyond that an amazing movie. Will help you be grateful for your life.

Very good movie with an intelligent protagonist

Will Smith was fantastic in this movie. It was very emotional. The language wasn't that bad; it's probably more of an adult or mature teen movie based on it's plot. But it was a very well done movie.

    Good movie for older kids

This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I gave sex a "pause" because there's a long scene of the main character's girlfriend in a bikini while dressing for work. I gave language a "pause" because of moderate profanity.

    Cute, Said, Happy

Overall this was a great movie. The F-word was used few times. I really was upset when the five year old boy said it. I also didn't like the part where the father told his son to "Shut Up!" The above are my personal feels, I really enjoyed this movie overall. It got me thinking of how life could be without a home.

traumatic scenes for kids, but no worse than Bambi

I like CSM reviews but I found this one angry. You can critcize this for the limited dialogue and simplistic story, but it is a good story, one that has any number of good elements for kid viewing. I don't really see the need to develop a parallel conversation for the mom. She isn't dissed by the dad, her ordeal is well illustrated. Similarly, I don't see the need to drag out the standard racial/economic inequality issues as a template into which to fit this story. These issues are reasonably obvious to the viewer, and the presciption for a problem can be decided upon individually, not preached. That would have made the story less compelling for all.

Despite the fact that I usually prefer Comedy > Drama any day, this was the best movie ever!

    A Wonderful Movie!

We saw this last night and we loved it! My husband and i saw it first together as we usually do to make sure a movie is alright to let our kids watch later on. This movie is alright for kids 10 and up. I think it might be boring a bit for any kids younger than that. This is a very good movie based on a real life experience. Will Smith does an incredible job as does his son Jadin. I think because he was able to have his son in this movie it was easier for Will Smith to really put himself out there emotionally. You can really feel the emotion and are rooting for his character all the way thru the movie. The ending (i wont give it away too much) had the tears flowing, tears of happiness of course. I recommend this movie to everyone who loves movies that have a real storyline and leave you with a good feeling. This movie is worth taking the time to see. Will Smith is an incredible actor and the real person whom this film was made around must be proud :)

Very moving, and extremely sad until the end

This movie really made me cry! It was very touching and movie, with some mild profanity. It also teaches people a lesson on how fortunate they really are, and you should appreciate what you have.

I enjoyed this movie. It followed the true hard story of a real man. I also liked how Will Smith was cased as the role. They need to make more movies like this in my opion, it grabbes me in and takes me for a ride in my own home.

Kept me reaching for the tissues...

I love this film, it is really good but really sad. There is one use of f***, and a couple of uses of other language that your average parent would not want their child using but it is still really good.

    I love Will Smith.

It's a good movie. Sad, uplifting, but not true to life. It may be based on a true story, but it isn't close to what really happened.

Best Movie Ever, even for 12 year olds.

Ok. There is a little bad language, but this is an amazing movie that portrays life at it's low. The characters in this movie struggle to survive, but they perservere. This is probably the best movie I've ever seen; and I'm only 12!

    Sad but Uplifting

The Pursuit of Happyness is a great movie inspired by a true story. I think the movie could have been a little longer and it should have shown Chris's life afterwards. Will Smith did a great job. The only thing that parents should worry about is that there is some swearing. But other than that i think it would be ok for ages 10 and up.

    Wow!

This movie had an all around good performance! This is best for kids 12 and up though because there is a lot of drama in the movie but, most of it was situations that would happen in real life! But, this was based on a true story. It also had a good plot.

Best Movie of 2006! Definitely should have won the Oscar!

This is without question the greatest movie you will ever see. Period. Will Smith at his absolute greatest. I'd recommend this for everyone. There is a small bit of language but I wouldnt worry too much! If you haven't seen this there are two hours of your life wasted. Everyone will without doubt love it.

Should have won best film award

Pursuit of happyness is not only a sad story but a true and in the enad happy story. Any kid over seven should see this movie just to see how hard it is to be homeless. Will smith and his son (who is really his son) go though a hard life trying to get enough money to live, wich is how many homless people live.
