What Parents Need to Know
About Robots
Parents need to know that this movie has cartoon-style peril and violence with some thrill-ride-ish special effects. Characters use some crude school-yard language and there are some potty jokes, including an extended fart joke sequence, and some mild sexual humor, including jokes about cross-dressing and "fixing" a dog.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about the difference between the two mottos. The "outmodes" are made out of pieces from other machines. Which ones do you recognize? How do Rodney's and Ratchet's ideas about helping people differ? Why doesn't Crank want to try and what changes his mind? What's the difference between Bigweld's and Ratchet's views on what a corporation should do? Why did Rodney say that the most important thing his parents gave him was believing in him? Who can you help by believing in them? If you could be an inventor like Rodney, what would you like to invent? Families might like to learn about the history of inventions and becoming an inventor.

Modern cartoon with a little adult humor
While I agree that the fart sequence is a little unnecessary I find this movie really cute. I think all in all the lessons it's teaches are worthwhile. I think the idea to be proud of yourself no matter what is important and the idea to not give up on your dreams is endearing. I think the "violence" is well done in a way that it is goofy and child acceptable. The few suggestive comments are not in your face. They are subtle and not overly offensive. All in all me and my kids really enjoy this movie (over and over again!)

Really funny
I don't really like animated movies. However, this one is one that I do like. Parts of it are laugh-out-loud funny and kids really like all of the amazing graphics and funny robots. Great for kids.

Not great really...
Far too frantic and very little plot. There is plenty of excitement but it just NEVER stops - there are no breathers to let the film calm down and some of the bits are not funny when you can tell they are trying to be.

Boring beyond belief
I have never had a reaction to a movie like I did this one. My reaction? BLAH. Formulaic characters. Poor dialogue. Predictable ending. There is nothing to this movie. Even Robin Williams seems like he could have done more with his character if given the chance. The movie seems to have been designed merely to showcase those visual effects everyone's talking about. Kinda like "Oh yeah, I guess we should have some kind of love story here...." Won't buy the DVD, won't need to see it ever again.....

HILARIOUS!!!:D
This movie is Hilarious with a capital h. Sure, some of the jokes are a little off-color. I wouldn't be shocked if this got a PG-13 rating instead of a PG. But on the bright side, this is my favorite movie!

Not as clever as it looks
Although the animation was fine, this movie falls flat on plot and character. The villain and his villainous mother were strictly cardboard and even the good guys had no spark.
