bad language!!!!1
lots of swearing (yes even out of the mouths of children) adults say the words (you can kiss my ass, i'm sexy, i'm not a sex freak anymore, shut up, and hell) kids say ( shut the hell up, shut up, and stupid head, and ass) The badest thing is there learning all this from there teacher. and when a kid writes a song and performes it on stage this the biggest line in the whole song "todays assiment kick some ass"! This movie is a very bad influence on kids 10 and under because if they see ten year old and adults saying those words and that the teacher in the movie say it's a good thing to say those words they probably will end up saying them.

A very good movie for tweens and up
"School of Rock" takes place at the school where Dewey teaches rock to kids. The main theme of the movie is to never give up, regardless of the situaton. If you enjoyed "School of Rock", I recommend you watch ABC's "Miss Guided" because the humor is similar and it is very tame, never overly objectionable like many primetime sitcoms of today.

a funny movie
a good movie but with some profanity and innuendo you may not want young kids to see it stil it is not much worse than nacho libre

Very funny movie
My kids(8, 10, 13)and I loved this movie so much. We own the DVD and have watched it many times! There is some mild swearing, but nothing too bad. Ms.Mullins mouths the word "bitch", which is the worst word, but kids wouldnt even know what she was saying. I definitely recommend this movie.

The children in this movie are amazing!
We love this film. It's so much fun to watch Jack Black interact with the kids. There is some mildly offensive language, but we let our kids watch this movie because of the amazingly talented children in it.

Good for young kids
I watched this movie with my 8 year old daughter and felt completely fine. I had read the reviews before hand. The only possible iffy part is that the main character is somewhat of a slacker and isn't following the rules. It all works out in the end though. A good family film and my daughter enjoyed it.

Good messages about individuality and growing up
If your child likes music, particularly rock music, this is a fun movie to watch together. Although there is some drinking, the filmmakers take care to state that rock music is not about "getting wasted" and there are many positive social messages about acceptance of diversity and adolescent awkwardness. Joan Cusack is terrific as always, and the talent of the 10-year-old performers is amazing.

Fun
This wasn't, by any means, a fantastic movie -- but it was really very entertaining. Jack Black is very funny, as were several of the kids, and the musical scenes were good. Because they put off schoolwork, I don't think young kids should see this.

On of the funniest films ever!
The hilarious screenplay for "School of Rock" is made even better when the main character Dewey is played by the famous comedian Jack Black. Even though the movie is filled with laughter and fun, unfortunately, there's some instances of language and a scene where someone gets drunk.

funny movie, but not amazing
I liked the movie. It was kinda funny, and worth watching, but I didn't love it. The were a bunch of curse words, and and bit of drinking. It could have been PG though.

Fantastic Jack Black Film
I am a ginormous Jack Black fan and I love this movie so much. I saw it in theaters four times and I now own it on DVD! It is a hilarious movie and it teaches a good moral: Never give up, no matter what your size, shape, or age.

LANGUAGE: Some strong language at points, like: Get out of here, stupid a**", "Shut the h**l up!" "Da*n!" "Between the lines!" DRUGS: Drunk singers, drinking scenes. VIOLENCE: Battle of the bands, tense scenes. SEX: Sexual refrences. MY REVIEW: Great, but not appropriate for young tweens. I loved it, though. my favorite!!!!

Hilarious!!!
I loved this movie!!! Jack black is funnier than ever and so are the kids acting with him even though some of them weren't even actors (lead gutarist Zach is soooo cute as an 11 year old I wonder what he looks like now...) The movie is great but be warned don't let kids under 12 see Jack Blacks video diary under the bonus features you see a blurred butt-shot of him. The movie itself isn't bad at all except for a few inappropriate references nothing bad happen on or off screen except for some drinking.

A Great Rock'n'Roll Move to watch!
In the movie "School of Rock", Jack Black really showed that rock is in his heart. In this great comedy, he played the part of Mr. S, a substitute teacher in a private school. He teaches his students to rock n roll. The wild rocker, Dewey Finn was thrown out from his own band like garbage and he started thinking how he would pay back a great amount of money to his friend, his room mate. When he tried to sell his guitar, the director of a private school called and asked for Mr. Schneebly, who was Dewey's friend. Trying to get money, Dewey played Mr. Schneebly, the substitute teacher. Later, he gets surprised to his class, as he finds out that the students have great talent to music. Then, he starts to teach every type of rock instead of teaching math or history. The rock band that was created out of Dewey (or Mr.S) and his students was called "School of Rock", and made other bands challenged with a great performance. Great acting of Jack Black was seen in this movie. With his excellent role, or a rocker, he bacame an idol for other kids. Later he played great solos on the guitar and I was surprised how he sang. Jack was performing greatly and wild on stage with his band. He was dressed in a school uniform and that remined me Angus Young from AC/DC. The movie was very interesting. It has talented kids and a great teacher. They all were great actors. The set was in the school, I mean it was a real school. "School of Rock", was the best music comedy I've ever seen. After watching it, I loved this movie, and the music they had. It was great. I really recommend it.

MY 2ND FAVORITE MOVIE EVER!!
this is an awesome movie! it is funny, smart, and has a good message in the end. there is some mild language, (crap, damn, ass.) but nothing very severe. a great movie, but not for kids under 10.

I love this movie!
This movie is sooooo funny and it is great! it is border line between PG and PG13. there is some language and one character gets drunk. Most of it is good but some kids mite not understand some of the jokes or some of the plot. But this was my first PG13 movie and it was great for that!
- I rate this title on for age 2 and give it
Great movie
I LOVE this movie. This is one of the best movies I've seen. The only bad thing about the movie is there are some cuss words through out the movie. And they do go to a bar and drink, but that's all.
- I rate this title iffy for age 2 and give it
It's my favorite movie.
Should be rated PG because the only bad words were the a-word and H*ll. The principal drinks beer, gets drunk, and dances, but not anything to inappropriate. Hysterical movie!

Great for a first PG 13 movie.
I do understand why this movie was rated PG 13. There is some sort of strong language. However I think this is a good first PG 13 movie. THis was my first PG 13 movie and it was good. THe reason i think this is a good PG 13 movie is because for younger kids they won't understand the bad jokes, and it will just go right over their head. However this is also good for older kids because it is really funny.
