    so-so

Yeah, gayer (and by that I mean it literally had a gay tailor in there) than the first 2.

not as good as the first two!

i think that the first two were better, but this one was good too. I still think that they should have had more of the baby orgres in the movie. Perhaps a fourth would be good to have all about shrek, fionia, and the babies, and maybe how Artie is handling being king!!!!

    Shrek the Third

Sexual Content (Pause): Shrek and Fiona sleep in the same bed, and it's implied that Shrek is naked. "The talk" is interrupted. A character states that another character makes her "hotter than July". Violence (Pause): A battle scene features fist-fighting and weapons. Language (Not an Issue): None. Social Behavior (On): Characters learn to be tolerant of one another. Strong female characters, though they are helpless and selfish at first. Commercialism (Not an Issue): Fake commercialism for fast food and other products. Shrek is a huge marketing empire. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco (Pause): Characters drink fuzzy navels. References to mojitos and marijuana.

I prayed for the end to come

The frog was lucky. He died before he had to suffer through this movie. Not much was said to Fiona about the death of her father. Shrek took off right after the funeral. The kids at the school were very obnoxious. (That bothers me a lot. Kids are never generalized as a nice bunch anymore! I could go on and on about that!) The best part about the movie was Fiona and the princesses standing up for themselves, and that was a fairly minor part of the movie. Nothing really memorable happened in the movie to make me desire a DVD.

Take your kids to see this movie. Every age group, from youngsters to adults will find something to keep them rolling in their seats. The plot and visual style offer something for everyone.

    Very Very Disappointing

My kids loved Shrek and we liked Shrek Two. Shrek the Third is terrible. The story was dreadful and it was much more sophisiticated than the first two and therefore not at all appropriate for my four year old. My seven year old loved it. We own the first two. Shrek the Third will not come into our house. I could not bear to watch it again or have my kids see it. Review from the New Yorker, "The “Shrek” phenomenon is one of those seeming oddities in our culture—children being entertained with derision before they’ve been ravished by awe. Maybe seven isn’t too early for irony after all. “Shrek” is postmodernism for towheads, pastiche for the potty-trained."

Not even CLOSE to the previous ones

One and Two were funny. Three is not! If your kids are really desperate to see it in the theatre, go to a cheap matinee. Otherwise wait for the video. If the producers keep going in this direction, Four will be released straight to DVD. That said, there's nothing really objectionable to the movie. The adult jokes (naked shrek, pot smoking, etc) will go over the heads of the target audience BUT probably not their pre-teen siblings. Be forewarned.

So-so sequel offers few laughs and a cheesy storyline

Sexual Content (Pause): Shrek and Fiona are seen in bed together (and it's implied that Shrek is naked). "The talk" is interrupted. A possibly transsexual character makes a comment that someone makes her "hotter than July". Violence (Pause): Battle scenes include weapons such as sticks and swords. Language (Not an Issue): None. Social Behavior (On): While Prince Charming has an extremely bad attitude for threatening to kill Shrek, the overall theme is tolerance and coming to accept yourself. Fiona is a strong female character, and so are the princesses - after they break the selfish, materialistic stereotype. Commercialism (Not an Issue): Parodies of actual places and products. Part of a huge marketing machine. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco (Pause): Fuzzy navels are ordered at a bar, talk of drinking mojitos, and a marijuana reference.

    ehhh

I honestly don't like admitting this but I was disappointed with Shrek 3. I think that they introduced way too many uneeded characters and focused way to much on justin timberlakes character who really didn't help the movies story because it was very confusing and tossed around. I think that this movie was sloppier writing wise. It definitely wasn't as funny as the first but it did have its moments. If I being 14 was confused than I'm sure little kids may be overwhelmed too. I defnitely think that the series should stop here so this doesn't happen to poor Shrek again.

the Shrek series should end here...

Shrek 1 was hilarious. Shrek 2 was even better. So when this one came out, it was apparent it would fall short of expectations. Instead, this one jumped, tripped on a rock, and fell off a cliff. The humor in this one is more mild than any of the others, but the humor still isn't as mild as other movies. Justin Timberlake only makes this movie worse. Overall, I'd take your kid to something else if you're both looking for a good time.

    this movie is terrible

this is the worst Shrek yet. It left me disappointed and ripped-off. I HATED the second one, but my parents encouraged and encouraged me to go see this movie. I did, it was like watching Norbit all over again. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Even though it was funny it wasn't as good as the other Shrek's. It got kind of slow in parts of it but those movies usually have a good plot line.

A movie i rather watch on my tv not on the big screen

ok this movie was ok funny but it was short and kind of boring i expected more from the last 2 movies and the commercials like a better story line at least so i dont think it was that good but i would have rather seen it at home but thats just my opinion but some peopl like just a movie that makes u laugh an nothing else eventhough it also was not the funniest i have see it was pretty funny.

    Another predictable but funny Shrek

this movie is kinda funny for a thirteen year old but it still gives you a boring fairy tale moral at the end (believe in yourself, dont let anybody put you down bull) and is preidictale. Pushes the limit for a kid movie. Princess strip down, burn bra, villians terrorize Far Far Away and change a store called "booters" to Hooters.

    BOOORRRINGGG

it was actually really boring and not that funny either. it was a waste of money. I also thought that one pricess? that looked and sounded like a man was not appropriate, and added nothing to the story.

    Very Good!

I thought the movie was very good because there was a lot of trust between the characters and a lot of good jokes. But some of the characters, such as Prince Charming, were not as trustworthy. The violence was very limited, although some of the characters expressed a lot of fury. There was also a little bit of teasing.
