Time for an honest review from a fan
I've been a long-time Simpsons fan, but I agree that this movie was a poor effort on their part. I do indeed agree with most of the negative reviews, but most of the people who flame this movie aren't really that honest about it and don't give enough insight to really say what made this movie bad. So here we go, a much more honest review from a long-time Simpsons fan: The storyline was really generic and like others say, it does seem like propaganda, but that's not why I didn't really like this movie all that much. Animations were indeed spectacular, but I'll be lying if I said they weren't trying too hard to impress audience members, because let's not forget, a majority of today's typical viewers care more about animations than quality, which I find sad. As for humor, this is the most important category, in my opinion. It was there, I did laugh a few times, but it was really lacking and I really felt it was trying too hard. Worst thing was that Homer was basically unlikable throughout the entire thing when he's usually a pretty lovable guy from time-to-time. Overall, this movie was really average in my eyes. It had potential and just barely passed. If you're a Simpsons fanboy who thinks all Simpsons stuff HAS to be awesome and the best ever, you're fooling yourself, but who am I to say you can't enjoy it? If you do, go ahead. If you're a hater who never liked Simpsons in the first place, then just don't bother commenting on, let alone watching, this movie in the first place. That is all.

This movie is the funniest movie I had ever seen!
This movie rocks! I am so not exaggerating! I am the biggest fan of the show ever and this movie speaks for itself. I'm hoping a sequel is on the horizon.

i laughed a lot
in this movie there was a lot of stupid stuff but the stupid stuff was very funny. there was cartoon nudity for about 1 min. i think this movie is okay for kids 11 and up.

Hilarious movie for teens (or mature older preteens) and up
Sexual Content (Pause): Bart is seen skateboarding naked, and we see various views of his bottom and one of his penis. Animals help Marge and Homer get undressed to make love (the latter of which we don't see happen, but we see the animal's shocked reactions). Violence (Pause): Homer puts a bugzapper in a pond to kill fish. A few minor characters die, and an angry mob comes after the Simpsons. Language (Pause): 4 craps, 4 hells, 2 asses, 1 damn, 1 g-damn, 1 slang term for breasts ("boob"), at least 2 slang terms for male genitals ("doodle" and "cajones" - "wiener" is also used twice, but we don't know if it was used as slang for genitals). Social Behavior (Pause): Homer, of course, has bad attitudes towards almost everyone. Bart progressively develops a bad attitude towards him, and various digs at George W. Bush and Al Gore may be offensive to some viewers. Crude humor includes Homer dumping pig and human waste in a lake. Commercialism (Not an Issue): None. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco (Pause): Churchgoers and bargoers switch places when they think the end is near. Bart drinks a mini-bottle of whiskey and Otto smokes marijuana from a bong.

Off the egde .... but still very good.
When i heard the movie was PG-13 and Barts penis was shown, i knew that it was only because most people that watch the show are under 17. BUt, this was still a very good movie.
- I rate this title iffy for age 2 and give it
It's just three or four episodes combined
They waited four years to put out this?

Hialrious, witty and lots of fun
This lived up to my expectations of the long running and popular show. There are plenty of jokes and I wouldn't say the material was quite PG-13 material as no doubt kids will have seen the show beforehand anyway. The Simpsons movie is a delight and manages to sustain its feature running time and despite a few misfire gags, most of them work fine

Funny!!!!
it was really good. i think that it's a good movie because i love the simpsons. there were hilarious scenes and i think the wait for the movie for 20 years was worth it!!! only one brief sexual scene, but they do not show it on the movie. i do believe there was one scene where they do show bart's private part. also, flanders does refer to males private part in the movie. overall though very good. parents, you be the judge because a co-worker of mine will not let her kids see the simpsons due to bart's character and how he's a brat. so it's up to you.

Don't be such a prude
So what if you see a brief shot of barts penis. my child has a penis and sees it everyday. my 2 children watch the show all the time and if they ask me questions about certain jokes or subjects I tell them what it means. A child who is knowledgeable is a child who is wise. To be open with your children makes them comfortable to come to you with their problems and not affraid to question.

HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!!! This has to be the funniest animated movie I've ever seen. Yes, more funny than Shrek, Flushed Away, The Incredibles, and any other animated movie you can think of. But be warned: some of the content in this movie is NOT suitable for all ages. In fact, this movie is aimed at the 12 and older crowd (think of the show. Would you let your kids watch it and expect them to not have any questions about it later? Some of the questions you might feel your kids are too young to hear the answers to.) So, take my advice. 12 and up, absolutely NO exceptions!!! But when I saw it in the theater, I saw some kids there that were still halfway through the Barney era!!! Not even old enough to talk yet and their parents took them with their olders brothers and sisters. What about the nudity and implied sex? NOT FOR UNDER 12!!! But it is a great movie.

I saw this movie with my husband, left the kids at home. But there was a row full of 6 and 7 year old's behind us. I am sorry but this movie is NOT appropriate for that age group. Just because it is a cartoon dosen't mean it is for kids.

The TV Show is BETTER!!
I love watching the Simpsons on TV. Some days, after a rough day at work, I turn to them for humor to ease my mind. The movie was a disappointment. The funny spots were all in the commercials. I didn't get a good chuckle in anywhere. Spider Pig, Spider Pig --- That was the best part. I was greatly disappointed. Wait for the tape.

Boring
In case you are at all inclined to see the movie – don’t. It is one big yawn! Everybody in the theater laughed for the first 20 minutes or so. Then everybody was completely silent, waiting for things to get funny again before the end of the movie – and it never did! (At least that is how it played in one particular showing in an Oklahoma theater.) My son and I enjoy the television serious - which actually is usually funny. The movie, however, is no comparison to the TV series, unfortunately.

Most Dramatic, Long, And Exciting Thing The Simpsons Have Ever Done.
This is one of my absolute favorites. I'm a big fan of the show, and the movie doesn't disappoint. To me it's the most exciting and touching story the Simpsons have ever come across. They pulled out some talented writers for this movie, and it's better than some of the episodes I've seen in the past. It's basically like a long episode that every Simpsons fan has been waiting for. Though they did some over the top stuff that they don't usually do in the show. Like showing Bart's private, showing him drink an entire bottle of whiskey, and Homer using the middle finger once; it's definitely PG-13 material. But other than that they keep the same basic concept and humor of the show, but with a more dramatic twist. I loved it, and if you love the show, you'll love the movie too.

At the begining itchy and scratchy have a pretty graphic brawl. Barts penis shows for mabey 1 second. Bart is suposed to be what like 10 and he drinks a whole mini whiskey and acts drunk for a little bit. kids, DO NOT DRINK ACHOHOL! A pretty good movie.

ok, but could be funnier. :-|
the movie was ok. i don't know why common sense rated this movie an iffy 12+ because when it shows bart naked it's not graphic at all, but i wouldn't let a five-year-old see it or anything. it's ok. it could've been funnier.
