This is where the epic series took a turn for the worst.

As much as I was hoping that this movie would continue the Spider-Man movie trend of being better than the one before it, it sadly doesn't accomplish that goal. In fact I would have to say that it wasn't just not better than the second, it was nowhere even as good as the first. As far as action goes, kids'll love it. However, for people looking for more than just exciting action... They will be dissapointed. It's not that this was a bad movie, as it is still a fun popcorn flick. Unfortunitely, a Spider-Man film being just a fun popcorn flick just doesn't pass for acceptible. If you are a Spider-man fan this movie is still worth watching, although it will cause some dissapointment, varrying depending on the person. Lastly, this film is probably the tamest of the three, and I believe almost any eleven year old would be fine watching this.

    A Great Film.

Sexual Content: Peter and M.J. Kiss. M.J. and Harry kiss. Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy kiss. When MJ breaks off the relationship Peter makes MJ jealous by dancing suggestively with Gwen Stacy. Pause. Language: Mild for PG-13. A few A-s, d-mn, God's name is misused, h-ll. Pause. Violence: Lots. Mostly action. Little if no blood. The most voilent/frightening part is Venom. Venom jumps out without warning and will scare younger or sensitive kids. Pause. Social Content: Peter struggles with revenge and wanting to kill the Sandman for killing his uncle. But in the end there is only one character who remains selfish and is killed for it. Appropiate. Drug: Harry drinks. A lot. After all he is an unhappy millionaire due to the death of his father. Some mild drinking at a bar. Pause. As I said, if your child is sensitive or can't stand watching someone (Peter) get stabbed or a scary creature jump out at them, don't let them watch. But for teens or older tweens it's a good film.

Pretty mild for a PG-13. But still a little too dark for a lower rating.

Most intense of the series, but perhaps the best

Well, this movie is about as good as the first one, if not better. But it is also the most graphic and intense of the series. Venom is frightening, and the alien symbiote is scary as well. There are kisses, and a dance scene which I think was totally ridiculous, and shouldn't have been in a PG-13 movie. There also are intense and long fight scenes, and though they are cartoonish they are still very intense. For a PG-13 the language is tame, but four letter words are still in this movie. There is a bloody and graphic fight between Harry and Peter, which includes a bloody stabbing, and a graphic scene of a grenade exploding on a wall behing Harry. We get a flashback several times of Flint Marko shooting Uncle Ben, but though the scenes are intense, no blood or gore is shown. Venom stabbes Harry with his own glider, which could cause anyone under 12 or 13 to cringe. Most 13 year olds will do fine watching this movie, but any sensiteive 11 OR 12 year olds should NOT watch this movie

5 stars.... Excellent mix of action, humor, and darkness. Lots of moral undertones that I liked a lot. Was probably the best of the series. Loved it. Will definitely buy it on DVD.

    zzzzzzz

This movie was horrible. Sloppy plot, 1.5 hours too long, and didn't even come close to Spiderman I or II. The Spiderman 'appeal' and marketing pulls you into the theater, but unless you're a die hard fan and easily entertertained (i.e. children under 8) it has nothing to offer. It's a waste of time and money!!!

I did not care for this film. I found the plot weak and the acting weaker. The moral lesson was there, which Hollywood should be applauded for, but the fight scenes all felt as though I was in a video game. I agree with another person's review; when a movie is rated PG13, that means 13 and over only!

    Better than expected!

After the lukewarm reviews, this movie was such a pleasant surprise! The excellent acting and character development are what set the Spider-man series of films apart from typical summer action fare. Good moral lessons to discuss with your kids afterwards. We thoroughly enjoyed this.

    Good Lessons to Learn

As a mother of 2 boys, ages 10 and 12, I was very pleased with the overall messages portrayed in this movie. #1 - All decisions in life have consequences that affect those around you. #2 - you make think it is "cool" to be the tough guy, but, we are shown how this can also affect your life and change the perception others have of you. #3 - again, choices -- like how in the end, the character played by Topher, chooses to give up his life in trying to save the black goo from outer space. Overall-very pleased with the movie, and it's lack of sexual scenes, and lack of offensive words.

Hollywood Produces a Moral Tour de Force

Underlying the story in Spiderman 3 is an overt modeling of goodness that is unprecedented in Hollywood productions. Peter Parker chooses to forgive his uncle's killer, Harry chooses to renounce his father's legacy and defend his true friends, MJ chooses to flee temptation (certainly the rarest script decision), anger and revenge are renounced, blasphemy is judged, and of course good overcomes evil. For a change, action and violence are complemented by a sophisticated portrayal of non-humanist values.

    I was bored

This movie had too much going on at once. There were also some things that never really went anywhere. Harry breaking into M.J.'s house and assulting her was never really brought up or talked about again. Casting of Brock was all wrong. I don't feel it makes these movies better to have more villians, less is more. I hope Kirsten Dunst doesn't come back.

    "Pleasantly Bitten" by the Spider

As a single mom I was reluctant to go to see this film with my children for our Mother's Day entertainment. But, I was glad that I did. So, many of the block buster PG-13 movies are without a message, though entertaining. This film had both. I took my 14 and 11 year old to see this film. Spiderman 3 spoke to so many of the things I try to teach them about love, revenge, hatred, jealousy, redemption, good, evil and the conflicts in each of us. The many lessons I hope they understand and I am trying to understand myself were put on screen in a manner that is easily digestible and entertaining. I look forward to Spiderman 4. Good Job with this one!!!

Not on the same level as the other two

This movie was terribly, terribly predictable, I'm sorry to say. I saw the end coming after about five minutes. And while it wasn't all bad, it was nothing compared to its predecessor, Spider-man 2. One all out villain, one "sympathetic" villain, and a guy who can't decide whether to be good or bad couldn't even come close to Doc Ock. And half way through the movie, I started hating Peter more than anyone else in the movie. It didn't flow very well, and I don't even know why they threw half the things in there. I did, however, like the nice little connection between Harry and his dad, in that they both died being impaled on their own means of transportation. I'd be surprised if people didn't see that death of redemption coming, though.

I think that this is the most violent movie I have ever seen. I am 8 1/2 and this movie was ok if you dont act like they do because like I said this is a very violent movie so I dont think this is for my age but I didn't do anything bad after I saw the movie so I think it is fine for some 8 year olds but not all 8 year olds but other than that you probably have to be 10 or 11. And also I didn't mean to put no stars but my mouse wouldn't let me click 4 stars.

Boy did this movie STINK! Great special features and awesome action, but that doesn't mean it has a good plot/story! But if you're into romance and good computer effects it's your wast of 2 hours. Personally I'd rather read the comic.

The Worst Spider-Man 3 Film Ever

Spider-Man 3 the third installment from the epic series I thought was the worst of them all. This film deserves to be a good film! But thing was there were too many villians, too many plotlines, too many romantic problems with the characters. I thought most of the film was o.k. but the ending I just thought was cheesey! Anyway, the films main plotline is that Spidey/Peter Parker (MaGuire) thinks the town is safe when all of the sudden all these villians just appear. Also Parker has enough to worry about with his drama queen girlfriend Mary Jane (Dunst) who was I thought was a lousy performance. Also Parkers X-Friend (Franco) who believes Spidey killed his freako father when he really killed himself! I dont want to give the film away! So overall, this film is o.k. drama wise but action wise worst ever!

The best of the superhero movies!

Spiderman unlike almost all other superheros has done pretty well in the obox office. This was a great movie but almost to the point of to much violence. there are a few deaths. and there is a lot of love trama in this with Peter and MJ. i don't know if this one is better than the 2nd or not that would be a close one! 10+
