Not as kid friendly as I remember
We turned this off half way with my two year old for a few reasons. 1. It's a hard film to follow and actually pretty boring. 2. Alice kept getting upset and no one cared 3. Various "bonks" with comedic levels of violence that just weren't worth it. Nothing major but didn't feel like it had a good message or there was enough care and concern for the characters. We didn't get to the Queen of Hearts, but I assume I would have had to fastforward that part.

Fast-Paced and Disturbing for Young Viewers
This movie has no real plot except that Alice is almost constantly in mortal danger. Loud and chaotic throughout. Wonderland is confusing and disconcerting to young viewers, and most of the puns/jokes and complex language are geared at adults. The last section of the movie is mostly focused on the Queen of Hearts and beheadings. Some of the scenes (like the flowers and the tea party) are enjoyable, but the rest might be fodder for nightmares for kids who are too young.

Disappointing- a bit strange and scary for little kids
My kids found this movie quite scary, which suprised me as I had checked the rating here. It is a bit strange and scary fairly near the beginning and my kids (3 & 5) were both afraid and left to room.

For young children who are "curiouser"...
If you're trying to find some (mostly) harmless entertainment for a 4+ kid, this is perfect for you. You may have noticed that a lot of movies on this site are for 8+, so it is hard to find stuff for the very young. Especially with Tim Burton's "Alice" out now, younger kids may be "curiouser", and this Disney telling is very safe.
The only think I'd like to mention is, in the scene with the "Walru
s and the Carpenter", the Walrus ends up eating some oysters he's just befriended. And thay are awfully cute in the Disney-anthropomorphic way. Because of this, I thought for sure he wouldn't eat them...but he did (off-screen).
My 5 year old didn't seem to mind though.

Not good for the little ones
Some things in this movie are too intense for the under 5 crowd. My 4 year old was disturbed by the Queen of Hearts and wondered why Alice was so scared. We watched it once and took it back to the video store.

My second favorite film from The Master of Animated Entertainment!!!
Alice in Wonderland never fails to amuse you with it’s spectacular animation and wonderful characters and storytelling!!! It remains a worry and true addition to my library of digitally purchased streaming media!!!

Great movie for little ones
Brilliant fun for the whole family. Nothing really scary, just the mean queen who ultimately comes off just as much as a weirdo as everyone else in this quirky movie! A great classic to share, even if there’s no real positive messages to be gained.
