my thoughts...

It's a surreal animated Disney classic with mild peril.

Hate This

This movie should be 41 and up, it's kind of terrifying and weirdly druggy. This movie is the bane of my existence. That said, it has a lot of symbolism, with Alice's drug addiction sending her into a downward spiral. Supposedly killing the Cheshire cat represents killing herself.

Thumbs Down

*SPOILERS FOLLOW! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!* I know that lots of people like this movie, still I must be in the minority here. Maybe I just don't like surrealism or psychedelic-type movies or whatever the heck this movie is supposed to be, but I felt an intense dislike toward the movie. As you may well know, it follows a titular girl named Alice who ends up following a rabbit through a hole and getting lost in a magic world inappropriately called Wonderland. There, lots of nonsensical things happen to her. I didn't mind it at first, however eventually all the nonsensical things started to pile up, and it became maddening. Alice's responses to all that she encounters are especially irking, as she doesn't seem confused by anything - instead, she seems to expect for the Cheshire Cat and Mad Hatter to behave like proper British snobs. Maybe the White Rabbit, the only logical being in Wonderland, gave her a poor impression. I dunno. That is admittedly a short description, but apart from some stuff at the beginning and the end, that's all - Alice experiencing things that would even confuse The Joker and her inane responses. I recognize that it ends up being merely a dream, but before that, there is nothing that made me feel glad I watched the movie other than to say I got it off my bucket-list. I can respect that it's supposed to be psychedelic-ish, but it's not very entertaining. Maybe I just don't appreciate surrealism. I don't mind films that are somewhat odd - I liked 2001: A Space Odyssey. But it at least had one foot in reality, no matter how tenuous it was. Parents should know that there isn't anything inappropriate, but you won't find any great role models or messages either. Your kid will probably like this movie, but for the visuals. If you like surrealism and that sort of thing, go ahead and watch this movie, but if you're just trying to put something in for your kid to watch, I'd suggest Pinocchio or Beauty and the Beast or Ratatouille over this one.

Great movie!

I really like this movie, but it can be a bit controversial because some people think it’s boring. I really think it’s a sweet movie though :)

I absolutely love this movie it’s one of my favourites. Though the queen is kind of a jerk, plus some images are really bright with colour, and the Cheshire Cat kind of bothered my brother, though it isn’t too bad
