I thought the book was better, but this film wasn't so bad. This film doesn't really contain violence, but there are a few scenes of peril, and the Queen of Hearts is cruel. She yells to Alice, "Off with her head!" but never actually kills her, although she does sends her minions after her. A caterpillar smokes a pike. Compared to other Disney films, though, this one is mild.
I saw this when I was little and I loved it. I haven't seen it for a while but it is a Disney classic that anyone should be aloud to watch. The scene where she is in the woods and there is the story about these two guys creeped me out and the ending was a bit scary but suitable for ages
5-1/2 because I thought it might be scary for little kids
I love both, but they send you into some kind of surreal world; a dream that you won't be done with until it's done with you. It's a great quality, although most likely intentional, that not everybody finds every day. Alice In Wonderland is a nice escape away from what reality is. Oh, and 'I Give Myself Good Advice' is a song that fits me wonderfully, haha.
This is the perfect movie for every age, and one that adults won't look forward to being over. Alice might do things you don't want your kids doing, but she realizes she should listen to her good advice. There are some characters that smoke, the caterpilar smokes a hookah.
To me, I think Alice in Wonderland is a great movie! If any author in world has the best imagination ever, it's definitely Lewis Carrol! In my Healthy Living class, we were learning about Alcohol and Drugs and my teacher told us that this movie is all about drugs. There's a scene where Alice is eating mushrooms and she grows big which is a reference to "Mushroom Trips". And how Alice was drinking the shrink potion, it was a reference to drinking acid. All the talking animals, the talking doors and the twisted, Looney and crazy environment of Wonderland is a reference to how people hallucinate when they're on drugs. I've seen this movie when I was 2 years old and at that age, I didn't even knew what the heck drugs where till I found out what they were today. Back then, I thought it was a fun and exciting simulation to escape from reality and I'm sure kids at the age of 2 will think the same thing too. Once they reach 15, they'll know the truth but not at 2. It's still a great movie that any kid can watch and I recommend it to all ages.
