not that much good for older teens

This movie is INTENSELY scary and violent. There is a lot of blood. In almost every scene there is something gory. Lots of ghosts, dismembered bodies, girls hanging from the ceiling, walls dripping blood, ect. The acting was disappointing at best, but trust me, that will be the last thing on your mind while watching this. Overall, it was terrible. I do not recommend to ANYONE!!!!

This remake is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! It has maybe one or two scares and thats it, the rest made me sick to watch. Not because of gore, there is a strong lacking on that, but it just plain sucks, it is nothing like the original. I admire Ryan Reynolds & he is a great actor, but why is he wasting his time in this sorry excuse for a movie and a remake for one of the greatest horror movies of all time. Save yourself the rental fees on this one & get yourself the discounted or free rental of the original Amityville Horror. You wont be disappointed with the original, unlike this sorry remake.

well,this movie wasnt scary at all darkness boogeyman and the ring were much scarier than this 1 and those were all rated pg-13.there is a sex scene but u bearly even see thier backs..and to top it all off this was probably the stupidest horror movie ever made....and that is sayin alot!!!!

Wow! This was an excellent movie. It wasn't like other horror movies which are 100% unbelievable, this one could come true if you think about it. There is only about 6 F-Words and 10 other words which was extremely mild, and the sex scene only shows a man wearing boxers and a woman wearing underwear showing their backs for about 10 seconds (mild moaning and panting) but the violence is quite strong depending on how well your stomach takes violence. A lot of the violence is just blood splattering on the wall, but you do see a dog that was cut up by an axe plenty of times, and you see a man cut his head off (you see the knnife slice his skin) Basically 13 and up! NOT R material!
