This movie did not bore me in the slightest, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I read the book last year and the movie is nothing like the book. All together they removed about 5 or 6 characters from the book version. And also, I saw people taking 7-year-olds to see this, they didn't even flinch!
When I saw The Da Vinci Code, I was neither dissapointed or impressed. I was actually a little impressed by Angels & Demons. The movie is MUCH more fast-paced than The Da Vinci Code and has a twist ending. A fun thriller most of the way through, with a few slow streches and some preposterous storytelling, but never completely dull. Note to parents: The movie contains a substancial amount of bloody violence including a burning. Young teens may also find all the Catholic and Illuminati history to be a bit boring.
While it is a very entertaining roller-coaster ride of a movie, the violence is a VERY hard PG-13 (I'd say it should be R.) And that's the theatrical version. The extended cut is DEFINITELY R-rated.
Oh, and if you are Catholic (which I'm not) you will probably be gritting your teeth through most of it.
Good movie. It DID NOT bore me. The violence is the main problem in this movie. It may scare younger viewers. My 9 year old brother got freaked out when he saw a cardinal getting eaten by the rats
I'm worried about the violence...because in the book it was kinda apalling, although I would rate the book five stars. Is the violence really so disturbing that I shouldn't wacth it? Can anybody help?
one of the best movie with tom hanks ever made.but my parents got kind of offended my parents we're are very catholic.but didn't bored me I love that movie
My only problem was that it was a bit graphic. After seeing The Passion of the Christ, I get very emotional when I see graphic violence in movies. It's definitely not boring though! However, younger teens might not completely understand this movie completely.
I myself am a Roman Catholic, along with my mother (whom I watched the movie with) and we weren't offended at all. Te movie on the whole kept me on the edge of my seat and though it can be a bit gruesome skipping those parts is easy. (the fire death) Lastly the rituals and the science depicted are almost completely accurate, providing a learning opportunities.
If you love The Da Vinci Code, you will love this film
Angels and Demons is the best church conspiracy film iv'e seen since the previous movie The Da Vinci Code. This movie takes place before the events of the movie " The Da Vinci Code". Angels and Demons is about Harvard Symbolgist Robert Langdon who tries to save Vatican City from an Anti-Matter Bomb under the city from the religous mafia group known as the IIlumati. This film is talky but it is a good conspiracy thriller. Their is a lot of violence such as the cult group branding religious cardinals, one of the cardinals setting himself on fire. Overall this film is awesome. If you love The Da Vinci Code you will love this film.
Good Movie - with action, violence, some blood and swear words
An improvement over the adaptation of Da Vinci Code. Action-packed with twists and turns. Pretty violent, with some blood and not too much gore. Still very talky, with more violence this time. Angels and Demons generally succeeds as a film worth watching.
I LOVED the movie but you might wanna make sure you can handle disturbing images and violence before you see the movie. There was a little language but it wasn't a lot, the only words i herd were B word D it h**l but it was mild. There was a little bit of drug use but mild. There were good and bad role models. I think that the only positave message was that one of the missions in the movie seemed impossable to do but the worked together and completed the task.
I saw this movie since my mom dragged me along with her to see it in theaters. (she's a huge fan of The Da Vinci Code) It was an OK movie, I didn't find it scary or thrilling, but it wasn't exactly boring. I thought the Da Vinci Code was better. This movie was pretty violent by some peoples standards, mostly because of the weird ways the people were killed. I didn't find it THAT disturbing though. :/
