Very Enjoyable, Not Very Scary
I really enjoyed this movie, and at times, I was completely engrossed. The trailer reveals nothing, which I appreciate, and I was very surprised at all the twists and turns.
The movie itself was not scary at all, in my opinion. It was more of a thriller than a horror. The movie kept good suspense, and had comedic value. Even though the plot doesn't make a lot of sense, it was still engaging. If you are not affected by subjects such as rape and abuse, you should be all good for watching this movie. There is only a tad of gore, docile compared do movies such as It and Terrifier. There are some uncomfortable scenes, e.g. breast feeding, but nothing graphic, and barely any nudity; only a disfigured main character with breasts shown, not with sexual innuendo. Great movie, I recommend watching it, even if you're 12!

Please read!
Something I dont see anyone or any articles mentioning besides the obvious gore and nudity is that this movie can be triggering for rape, incest and/or forced pregnancy victims. It was really sad and just honestly depressing to see knowing that this happens in real life, though the backstory was short it still had a terrible impact on my mental well-being. Other than that I think it's a well-done movie that's really unpredictable, and keeps you engaged. (:

personally, i wouldn’t recommend barbarian.
this movie was disappointing ngl. with all of the hype, i assumed it would be better. i’m usually not bothered by cursing, but the majority of the script for barbarian was the f-bomb. it was really weird with the whole rape//incest aspect of the movie. on another note, please don’t watch barbarian if forced pregnancy, rape, incest, or sex are triggering for you. this movie was hard to watch, not only because of the plot, but also because of the extreme nudity and gore. don’t waste your time on barbarian.

Really good movie. Has nudity, gore, sexual references and suicide.
Has full frontal nudity, extremely gory parts(like one part, someone’s head gets ripped in half), kidnapping, sexual assault references, and suicide. (Sorry if I missed anything I’m going off my head).
-NO SPOILERS.

This movie really blew me away. I’ve heard mixed reviews about this one, but it’s so good in my opinion. The plot twists, the camera angles and play, it’s all so fun and scary. The acting was top tier. I could really feel the fear of the characters. But I think they could have easily gotten into the motive of the antagonist, showing pervious Trauma and how they grew up.

Don’t waste your time
I felt like this movie had potential, but it really went downhill when your introduced to the “villain” Who’s a very tall, skinny, and naked woman. I believe she’s 40 but she looks to be around 70. The plot is basically the characters trying to escape from her. She thinks they’re her kids because all she’s ever know living in the dark basement was a parenting video. The only really violent parts are a man’s head being bashed against the wall until it’s crushed, and you see a man’s eyes being gouged out. There aren’t any sex scenes, but there’s talk of rape and inbreeding. I really wouldn’t waste your time with this movie

Not the scariest movie I have ever seen, BUT the gore is pretty realistic compared to other movies. Also boobs are on screen like a lot lol. Not really in a sexual way but just beware of the nudity. And there are themes of sexual assault too. The implications of what was going on in the house are just disgusting. I think a young teen could definitely handle it though.

Interesting Horror Movie with Dark Themes (could be triggering for some)
18+ seems a bit excessive. Probably more suitable for 15+. However, I think the age limit depends on how much the viewer likes horror and how much tolerance they have to certain dark themes. I’d recommend watching it with an adult if you’re 16 and under (and get scared easily). This movie is more interesting to watch if you know nothing about the characters, etc. (I knew some details in advance which I think took away from the fear factor a bit)
[Some Spoilers Ahead]
The movie was fairly scary in the beginning, especially when waiting for jumps scares. However, for me personally, after learning some backstory I no longer feared the monster but sympathised with it. I believe that being able to pity the monster in this film was a unique aspect to what made it a good film. Other characters weren’t particularly likeable, the typical horror protagonist wanting to be a hero and risking their lives to save other victims. Splitting up, going into dark tunnels with no protection, just guessing stupidly 🤦♀️
The movie was gore but in comparison to other movies it definitely isn’t the worst in that aspect (body parts were ripped apart, blood, etc.) It does have dark themes revolving around ped*philia, inc*st and r*pe. As for n*dity, the ‘monsters’ breasts are visible throughout the duration of the movie (if you watch it you will understand why). Quite a lot of swearing, characters drop the f-bomb multiple times (nothing high schoolers arent used to hearing).

What in the world did I just watch
CommonSenseMedia says there’s a ton of gore, even tho there really isn’t. There’s a couple scenes, but other than that it’s just creepy and dark. Though I do want to address how a main plot revolves around rape, torture, and continuous incest where a man makes babies with his babies and their babies. While nothing is shown, it is heavily implied, and the worst part about it is that he records all of it. We don’t see the tapes, but we hear awful noises. Just so y’all know, this movie doesn’t really have a happy ending, and it’s one of the most bizarre movies I have ever seen. You feel bad for almost all of the characters that die (except for maybe one) and you are questioning yourself the entire time, because nothing really makes sense at first and at certain times I though I was watching 3 different movies. On top of all that, there is a creepy massive deformed barbarian who is walking around butt naked the whole time, boobs fully shown many times, but it’s not there to be sexual nor attractive. You also see her force her boob into a man’s mouth, and you see a normal lady on a TV breastfeeding but you don’t quite see any nudity.

Honestly, It was a pretty good movie. Especially if you like horror movies. I would say that its definitely 13+ because of the language & some other things. Such as, lots of blood, a man getting beaten, a man getting his arm pulled off, a man getting his head split, mentioning of rape, aswell as abuse & the woman in the tunnels (nude). If you’re a fan of horror movies then this movie could be for you :)
