    My concerns are:
    • Inappropriate language

    Fun scary

Made my 10-year-old laugh, but some parts are 'gross' and a little creepy, even though it is not too creepy.

great movie but a lot more than the review says

great, witty, and entertaining movie. i only take issue with the inaccurate description provided by common sense. there are several sexual references ("sexual perverts" and moaning mistaken as active sex by teenager for two examples). there's a lot of swearing - s**t, god d*** (many of this), hell (not just as the place), and one f***. there are some very, though comic in context, scary images (face ripped off, bloody toothed monster, people cut in half, etc). there are also many (8) references to suicide. it's just for an older crowd than 9 years old.

    Read the kids' reviews!

The kids noticed and cared more that there was a whore house in this movie than the adults did! My husband and I debated letting our kid see it, and were thinking it was ok, but then he remembered that scene. Also, I would rather not expose my son to people smoking. Dead people I'm ok with, just not smoking ones! Oh, and use/abuse of prescription drugs and alcohol, too. Man, the more I remember about it, the less appropriate for children it seems.

Beetle juice is a movie you want to see!

Michael Keeton and his pals have a ball when he comes back to life in this funny movie. He has to teach two other dead people how to act in the afterlife. They end up learning to live with the new people who live in their house and they sing and dance a lot. Im amazed that this movie was made so long ago!

    Not good for young kids

Because this was rated PG, I got it for my 11 and 8 year old. It was really not right for them at all and my husband and I couldn't believe the PG rating. I did not enjoy watching this with my kids one bit.

    Yuck, yuck, yuck!

I couldn't finish watching this as a kid and I tried again as an adult. Still couldn't stomach the gross out "comedy" and rate this as dumb, dumb and dumber. Never have finished watching it and can't stand to see even the title without gagging. Don't bother.

Funny, original, great for Halloween parties

Another masterpiece by Burton that's 100% un-reapeatable but totally imitatable. Creepy and awesome. Some strong language and the whole theme's pretty dark. Like I said, great for parties, for some reason teen chicks love this type of quirky movie. Watch it!

i loved this movie but my younger brother brought his friend over when we watched it and well he didn't really like it. Proves to me that tim Burton movies are really good but u either love them or hate it

    Creepy but fun

Beetlejuice is good but it has some bad words like the S word and F word. It's about two people who died and they meet this dead guy called Beetlejuice because they wanted to get rid of the family that moved in to their house. The people who died are husband and wife and they got Beetlejuice out by saying his name 3 times. But Beetlejuice gives everyone a hard time. You have to watch to find out if they get rid of him - or NOT!

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! It does have mild cursing and parts that could totally freak out young children. Wait untill your 8 years old but when you see it you'll LOVE IT!!!

Honestly, it was a great movie when I was younger...

and it still is today! I distinctly remember seeing this when I was 6, 7, maybe 8(?), and it didn't bother me. My mom wouldn't let me keep watching it if that were the case. Some kids are better with kind of stuff than others. Geena Davis was one of the first actresses I remember because of this movie. It was my first Tim Burton movie, out of the many I have seen today. Anyway... This movie is a lovely story of a young couple whose lives take an interesting turn, as in they lose them. They soon meet bio-exorcist Beetlejuice, who keeps them on their toes, while a yuppy family tries to move in to their house. Their daughter befriends the couple. All in all it's a really funny movie and if your kids have seen any of Tim Burton's other movies and liked them they will love this. Most of the "inappropriate" jokes will go over their heads, some still go over mine!

    not for young kids

i think this movie was good but lanuge is a bit of a issue.A bit of miner cursing inclods one big curse word the f word. Young kids would find it a bit of afensif.Beetlejuice has some sexual refrence like beetlejuice was called into a whore house and stripers call him in. older kids will laught there heads off.

    Entertaining

Beetlejuice is far from my favorite Tim Burton film, but I was entertained by it, and it is endless imaginative and inventive. As far as content goes, Beetlejuice says the f-word, and is fairly sleazy and sometimes curses. Some scenes are probably too scary for kids, and the humor is pretty weird and dark. Good for kids 11+

    creative, original movie

I think that this movie should be ages 10 plus. If parents watch this movie with young children they should be ready to censor. (there is 1 f word) I really enjoyed this movie, it's very different from anything else out there. I thought it was very funny and an overall good movie. Be careful of the age of the child though, the characters are scary looking.

    horrible movie!

This movie had the f-word in it! It also had other bad words, too. It was also a pretty boring movie. Never, ever rent it or buy it.

I disagree with willbarchi (can i do that?)

I think that this movie is fine for 9+. He swears once, and ForJouno's slit is intentionally comical. This movieis about dead people, so they obviously had to show some people that are dead, and Tim Burton is just a creative guy. I love this movie, and i really think it is a family film.

    What do you mean PG?

I live in England and it is a 15 over here! for 1 thing beetlejuice says the f-word when they are leaving the model town. he also visits a whore house that the woman with the slit throught put in there on purpose. Maybe you have the cut version because it is definately not as sugay and sweet as you say. 9 years old, gimme a break
