Another masterpiece by Burton that's 100% un-reapeatable but totally imitatable. Creepy and awesome. Some strong language and the whole theme's pretty dark. Like I said, great for parties, for some reason teen chicks love this type of quirky movie. Watch it!

What Parents Need to Know
About Beetlejuice
Parents need to know that there are some serious themes in this outrageous film: a young married couple comes to grips with the fact that they're dead, and a teenager contemplates suicide. Because of this, it's not suitable for children younger than 9. But there's nothing here that older kids can't laugh at.

Families Can Talk About
- Families can talk about why Lydia was so sad. How did she deal with it, and was her way of coping effective? How do you deal with it when you're sad?
- Also, what do you think of this bizarre take on the afterlife? What other movie depictions can you think of? Which is the most outlandish?

Creepy but fun
Beetlejuice is good but it has some bad words like the S word and F word. It's about two people who died and they meet this dead guy called Beetlejuice because they wanted to get rid of the family that moved in to their house. The people who died are husband and wife and they got Beetlejuice out by saying his name 3 times. But Beetlejuice gives everyone a hard time. You have to watch to find out if they get rid of him - or NOT!

Perfect for tweens and up.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! It does have mild cursing and parts that could totally freak out young children. Wait untill your 8 years old but when you see it you'll LOVE IT!!!

Fun scary
Made my 10-year-old laugh, but some parts are 'gross' and a little creepy, even though it is not too creepy.

great movie but a lot more than the review says
great, witty, and entertaining movie. i only take issue with the inaccurate description provided by common sense. there are several sexual references ("sexual perverts" and moaning mistaken as active sex by teenager for two examples). there's a lot of swearing - s**t, god d*** (many of this), hell (not just as the place), and one f***. there are some very, though comic in context, scary images (face ripped off, bloody toothed monster, people cut in half, etc). there are also many (8) references to suicide. it's just for an older crowd than 9 years old.

Honestly, it was a great movie when I was younger...
and it still is today! I distinctly remember seeing this when I was 6, 7, maybe 8(?), and it didn't bother me. My mom wouldn't let me keep watching it if that were the case. Some kids are better with kind of stuff than others. Geena Davis was one of the first actresses I remember because of this movie. It was my first Tim Burton movie, out of the many I have seen today. Anyway... This movie is a lovely story of a young couple whose lives take an interesting turn, as in they lose them. They soon meet bio-exorcist Beetlejuice, who keeps them on their toes, while a yuppy family tries to move in to their house. Their daughter befriends the couple. All in all it's a really funny movie and if your kids have seen any of Tim Burton's other movies and liked them they will love this. Most of the "inappropriate" jokes will go over their heads, some still go over mine!

Read the kids' reviews!
The kids noticed and cared more that there was a whore house in this movie than the adults did! My husband and I debated letting our kid see it, and were thinking it was ok, but then he remembered that scene. Also, I would rather not expose my son to people smoking. Dead people I'm ok with, just not smoking ones! Oh, and use/abuse of prescription drugs and alcohol, too. Man, the more I remember about it, the less appropriate for children it seems.

VERY BAD MOVIE
Evil, it speaks of deamons and dark spirits
- I rate this title on for age 2 and give it
not for young kids
i think this movie was good but lanuge is a bit of a issue.A bit of miner cursing inclods one big curse word the f word. Young kids would find it a bit of afensif.Beetlejuice has some sexual refrence like beetlejuice was called into a whore house and stripers call him in. older kids will laught there heads off.

Beetle juice is a movie you want to see!
Michael Keeton and his pals have a ball when he comes back to life in this funny movie. He has to teach two other dead people how to act in the afterlife. They end up learning to live with the new people who live in their house and they sing and dance a lot. Im amazed that this movie was made so long ago!

Not good for young kids
Because this was rated PG, I got it for my 11 and 8 year old. It was really not right for them at all and my husband and I couldn't believe the PG rating. I did not enjoy watching this with my kids one bit.

Entertaining
Beetlejuice is far from my favorite Tim Burton film, but I was entertained by it, and it is endless imaginative and inventive. As far as content goes, Beetlejuice says the f-word, and is fairly sleazy and sometimes curses. Some scenes are probably too scary for kids, and the humor is pretty weird and dark. Good for kids 11+
