Billy Elliot is amazing! Really, it doesn't matter if your kid's 13 or 18, I promis you they hear worse words/see worse things on the bus riding to school or in the hallways (personal experience) Even if you hate dancing, your bound to like this. They break steryotypes by making Billy (they dancer) straight and Michael (his friend) gay. And if you get the chance, see the musical, its just as good I swear~.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. This is a little bit sad, but overall a really great movie with a great message. It's rated R for strong language.
great movie, lots of language but if u promise ur parents u wont repeat it it shouldn't be a problom. some violence that may frighten younger children. goooooooooood movie.
well i learned a couple things. 1. a puff means in england 2. bill's friend is a puff. 3. boys cant do ballet.
touching movie. might offend some boys. and i am not a phobe. very much used ba- and b- and f-. i was supriesed to see billy cuss and hes only like 12. i reccommend it for 12. 11 if they know thier words, 10 if they know what gay is and thier words and it may make kids who understand cry (i know it did to me)
There is very bad language throughout, coming from the mouths of children. There is also some homophobic comments but they do eventually learn to accept it. In general, this is a very good movie!
Billy Elliot is a great movie with positive messages. It is a heartwarming portrayal of a great story. Yes, theres quite a lot of swearing but just tell kids not to use them words and besides some words might not be understood in place like the USA because its british slang.

I thought it is a great story line and a great message, but I saw it on the Broadway musical and it used so many bad words, practically one in every sentence! I do not recommend this to kids until they are at least 16 because this was not appropriate!
Tear-jerking, moving, heartbreaking, heart warming - they're all words to describe who you'll feel about this film. It is such a lovely film, but there are several occurences of blatant swearing, and it is very sad at times so I would recommend it for mature 12 year olds upwards.
#1:The worst the sex gets is when the main character puts his hands in his gay friend's pants, he comments "Aren't my hands cold?" and the friend replies, "Actually, i rather like it.". Get over it people. #2:The language is rather foul, although some kids(like me) couldn't even tell what they are saying. #3 : Only mild blood from a bloody lip/nose or a ferocious slap or two. #4:Some drunk people, mentions of an alchoholic "pissin' himself". #5: No consumerism #6:Great role models, though the father is seemingly mean at the begginning, but towards the end, he shows off his joyful, charming side. #7:Positive messages of love and trust #8: WATCH THIS MOVIE! Absolutely the BEST!
