Wow... I Am Appalled. But, Strangely, Entertained! ABSOLUTELY Not For Kids Under 18!

... Oh... my... God! This was the single, inexplicably raunchiest film I have ever laid eyes on. Half the movie I laughed because it was too rediculous and offensive not to laugh. But, readers, this is the grand-daddy of raunchiness. There were actual sex scenes; like, real pornographic sex scenes, if not for the black bars. In fact, if not for the black bars, this would be considered a funny, offensive porno. I mean, I was speechless throughout the film; I couldn't believe my eyes, ears, and, sometimes, my mind for some parts. I honestly thought a nightmarish flashback hit my mind during a portion of the film. PARENTS: *EXTREME WARNING*: This is the single raunchiest and edgiest film possibly in existance. If you saw Borat and thought that was inaproppriate, than you are in for a very crude awakening. Actually, an extremely crude and offensive awakening. Also, if you are easily or even somewhat offended by certain subject matters, than this is not for you. Extreme Irreverance could be the second title for this film, of it were renamed. Please, praents, I beg you, don't allow a teen or child to witness this film. Yes, it is funny and sometimes witty, but it is grossly offensive and completely inaproppriate, even for some adults. Well, thanks for reading - Move Man

    Why not NC17?

Cohen's satire is genius, but he definitely takes things way too far. How can you not love catching really stupid people at their worst? Especially people who have run for president and questionable baseball heroes--some of this was in the deleted scenes. I love his movies because of the outrageous humor, but really would like to see them without the sheer, raw, unnecessarily blatant sex scenes which are truly tasteless.

dont ever let your child see this

Unlike my last review of bruno. i found out that that was the wrong movie i saw. bruno is a complete homosexual pornographic movie. do not ever let your child see this movie, or they will get the wrong message. i guarentee if you let your child see this movie, after it he will say: i wish i never saw this movie, and if not, then there is something going very wrong. i mean sure its funny in some parts, but they should of taken the gay parts out.

    horrible

absolutely inappropriate for any age group. i was disgusted and left after 15 minutes. i tried again later on the computer and still sickend. nudity was abundant. sex was woven throughout and nothing about it was entertaining or funny. making fun of unsuspecting people isnt very funny.

    very iffy

this movie is very hard to explain. the language is severe but other than that every other thing isn't extreme. im not saying take your 6 year old into the movie. but if you have a teenager or preteen thats mature then they should be able to see this movie.

High concept "mockumentary" just doesn't work

I'll say something first, I LOVE Da Ali G Show and thought Borat was quite faithful to the show, so my dislike of this movie is not because of prudishness. The problem is that the film goes so out of it's way to shock the audience that you often don't know whether you're laughing because of uneasiness or because it's genuinely funny, a bad sign. The film has a few noticeably brilliant scenes(a segment in the Middle East for example), but if you look beneath the vulgarity, the majority of the film isn't that funny, it's just rather disgusting, crossing the boundary between raunchy and just plain gratuitous. I will say this again, I AM NOT A PRUDE. I wasn't disgusted by a penis flopping around for 30 seconds until it becomes erect and screams "Bruno" because it involved a talking penis, I was disgusted because it didn't serve any purpose other than to make people gasp. This film is supposed to be about exposing prejudices, but when Bruno is a walking stereotype who goes out of his way to flaunt his homosexuality, it justifies the bigotry of the "participants". This was why Bruno was the weakest character on Da Ali G Show, but that show had 2 brilliant characters to balance him out. If you've seen what the film is Rated R for, then I won't need to explain too much, I'll just say there's plenty of full frontal male nudity and some strong profanity.

    Bruno your message sucks!

I hated it...not to say that there was nobody in the theater! I am shocked that this movie is in theaters and should be at the nearest s*x store! It is dammaging to kids and this movie has nothing that conveys something intelligent. Even I did not want to see any body parts...especially close ups and there was horrible portrayal of the sexual act and homosexual acts which no one wants to see in such a way!!! DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 years of age!!! In general do not waste your time on this nonesense, go watch something else!!!!

    Don't Waste Your Time

If you're gay; don't see it. If you're straight; don't see it. This movie is offensive no matter who you are or how you look at it. Being offended by this movie is not the exclusive domain of the gay community as some critics make it out to be. Before I go any further, if you didn't like Borat you won't have a chance at liking this movie. Sacha Barron Cohen obviously wanted the same shock factor that Borat possessed, but sadly could not deliver. Bruno is a classic sequel gone wrong movie. While Bruno wasn't necessarily the sequel to Borat, it was certainly overshadowed by the first movie. Cohen should have considered the two movies being compared, as they will be, and focused more on creating a quality piece over making the audience gasp as they did with Borat. The movie's funniest moments are shown in the commercials and are not funny the second time around. Or the fifth time around if you watch a lot of tv. While the movie is laced with bits and pieces of comedy, the overall crude, tasteless sex scenes and close-ups on genitals in the movie take away from any humor. Not only do the vulgar scenes make the movie less enjoyable, they divert attention from the movie's message: the absurdity of homophobia. Whatever Cohen was trying to accomplish with this film just didn't happen. I give Bruno -2 stars for a tacky, sequel-esque comedy that just wasn't funny.

should be over 21 they should card you at the door

the most sexcrazed movie I have ever see, it IS a Porno, this is not a funny movie, it is just shock Value with alote of nasty sex seens, this should be rated X, it is ranchy even for a porn. this is a gay porn, and most if not all gays will be affended, and disturbed. what this movie says is if you are gay, you are a sexcrazed Freak. I am not easily bothered at things of a sexual nature, but I saw this movie with a friend, and nether of us had any idea of the content of the movie this movie whent way to far. way beyond Borat. this film belongs is porn shops not in theaters, it should be rated X, I talked to a man just after seeing it who had seen it, he also did not know how sexual it was going to he and said that was a porno, I said yes a gay porno, and yes some things are blocked out but it does not matter, this was like hard core porn, they only blocked out parts so they would get away with more. on this one he should get his ass sued off, I will not watch one of his movies agin.

It's really simple. I laughed so hard I cried. But I'm an adult. Do not take your children to see this movie. It's rated R for God sake. Again the movie was hysterical and well worth the time and money I invested in it, but I personally would not take a child under 16. Period.

Not for the weak or heart.

I thought the movie was so inappropriate I wouldn't let my parents or grandmother see it. The body parts shown on the screen were crude and completely unnecessary to be shown on such a large scale. Some parts were humorous but the main plot of the movie was for a man (Bruno) to stop being gay for the public eye. Many scenes see man-on-man sex as well as multiple orgy scenes. I felt like I was blushing the whole movie and I knew that if my mother or father had come with me they would have stood up and walked out, which many movie-goers did.

    BOYCOT BRUNO

Bruno was a filthy, painful waste of time. I cannot believe I was stupid enough to not read a review about it first. It was 60 minutes of vile filth, abhorrently offensive, brainless: a waste of $17. If CHILD ABUSE offends you, if graphic HOMOSEXUAL PORNOGRAPHY offends you (just a straight porn would offend someone - no Im not homophobic) and If watching real COUPLES Have SEX and S&M scenes offends you(although some may be turned on by this), and RELIGIOUS VILIFICATION and RACISM offends you, then PLEASE DO NOT SEE THIS SHOCKING MOVIE. Little Britain was funny, Summer Heights High was funny, We Can Be Heroes is funny.... This is NOT. For me who has a high tolerance to "unique" movies, I found this INHUMANE and PUTRID. It was an ASSAULT to my senses, my ears and my eyes. To see a "Black Baby" by the name of "OJ", being crucified on a cross, and a penis that fills the screen. Shame on the musos at the end who supported the Cruelty, Ignorance and Hate in this movie. It is very sad that it relies on extreme antics BOYCOTT BRUNO.

I am no prude, and I really do like SBC, but I couldn't stand this movie. As a 40 year old, I found myself looking away from the screen. Way too much gross-out humor for my taste that didn't add anything to the movie. This wasn't shocking...it was just over-the-top disgusting. I was sitting there with friends and was embarrassed to be in the theatre. Absolutely not for kids!

I do not understand who is rating this movie, it has no business being R. NC-17 would be more appropriate. Rude, pornographic, and lacking any redeeming qualities. More- "I can't believe he just did that" than "isn't that clever or funny".

Great movie - not for anyone under 18 to be honest!

Intentionally Shocking. Intended to cause discomfort/offence to provoke discussion? Or just to have a laugh at others expense? Promoting or exposing Homophobia? Stereotyping homosexuality and hetrosexuality? All the answers depend on your viewpoint. I laughed my belly off at virtually everything, I was "uncomfortable" numerous times, but this is Cohen at what he does best! It didn't offend me, but it did provoke me to think about whether there IS an underlying message or not to this movie! If you don't like violence, don't go to a boxing match. If you don't like shock factor movies, don't go to this! THat said, I loved it as it did exactly what it said on the tin. I DID feel sorry for Ron Paul.

    BRUNO! (ADULTS ONLY!)

I went to see this after seeing Borat which i loved and i must say it is the funniest but most shocking movie of the year! Im really suprised it wasnt rated NC-17 (which was it's orginal rating) for all the nudity and explicit sexual content in the film. It had all the sexual content you could ever imagine in a film from a talking cgi penis (funny but disturbing) to graphic sex acts. Teens will deffintly want to see this movie thanks to all the advertising its gotten and while it is hailirous, NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 17 SHOULD SEE THIS MOVIE!!! Im telling you people this movie has content that could be considered soft-core pornography! I also dont reccomend watching this if you are easily offended or disturbed by shocking content!

Perfect for adults with a generous sense of humor ONLY.

For what I saw of this movie, I can say that I didn't stop laughing but unfortunately, the projector broke about halfway through the movie. The most shocking moment in the whole evening was a family that brought their son and daughter to the movie, both of which couldn't have been over 12. When my wife and I saw them walk down the aisle and sit in the front row, we both looked at each other in surprise. This is such a gross oversight for any parent to make that have children under the recommended age. There is no excuse these days to think that a movie is safe based on the trailer you see on TV. There are countless sites like this one, print reviews, online reviews, redband trailers on youtube. Please, PLEASE take personal responsibility for your kids. PLEASE pay attention to what they're doing.

Good for anyone 15 and up.

This movie pushes the boundaries of good taste, sure. But I feel that it isn't as bad as everyone said. I loved the movie, I thought people's reactions to Bruno to be nuts. It really funny. I almost want to say Bruno wasn't funny, as the other people were more funny. Parents don't care about their kids, as long as they are famous? There is a lot of nudity, and sex, but it isn't anything a 15+ kid can't handle.

Under no circumstances should anyone under the age of 17 see this movie. I work at a movie theatre and saw some kids in there with their parents. I wish parents would view R rated movies before taking their kids, because I'm sure they wouldn't take them.

Okay, this movie is insanely funny! But, cation to parents, this is one of the most shocking movies i've ever seen! Although most of the extreme graphic nudity is covered by black boxes, or blurred, there is a video of a penis talking at the camera (Extemely Graphic). There is also full-female nudity, although you never really see her pubic area. Also, there are actual people performing sexual acts on screen (penetration is blocked out, if this movie didn't have those black boxes, it would be an absolute NC-17!) Bruno also does constant sexual dances with extemely tight wear like thongs. This movie practically has gay porn! Does give kinda good message about gays, though, and that people shouldn't rip on them just for having a different state of mind.

17 years old at the minimum. Very dirty and offensive, only watch if you like silly, gross-out humor.

This movie is purposefully dirty and pushing the limits. Parts of it seem like extended sequences of homosexual pornography. It's essential to go into the movie with an open mind, expecting over-the-top gross-out humor and silly jokes. It is extemely hilarious in parts, given that you like the type of comedy described above. Note: It's overty sexual and may give a negative or stereotypical overview to homosexuals. It is definitly more exposed and raw than its predecessor, 'Borat,' but also more funny. Ultimately pushed the limit to it's rating. Plus, it's mainly with real, unsuspecting people, which gives you an often negative outlook on Americans. NOT FOR THOSE WHO ARE EASILY OFFENDED.

Embarrassing and Crude...but it was FINE.

Bruno was oh-so inappropriate on so many levels, but it was FINE. Just because it has flopping genitals doesn't automatically make it a one-star movie, okay? People are way to edgy these days. It provides plenty of laughs, but I think it also delivers a nice message (however subtle it is). It suggests that you be yourself, and not care what others think of you.
