Hope, faith, grace
Common Sense Media’s analysis does this film a disservice by saying positive messages are “not present”. The plot of this awe-inspiring masterpiece centers around hope and faith in a world that has embraced despair and chaos - or, as Jasper so eloquently puts it: “Everything is a mythical, cosmic battle between faith and chance.” It’s a story of imperfect people sacrificing everything — including their own lives — for hope. People helping each other and forming bonds and being kind and good and human despite the hopelessness of the world around them. The cinematography is pure magic. The actors do an amazing job convincing us of the stakes. The world-building portrays a realistically grim, hostile, dirty future. The plot puts you through an edge-of-your seat, real-time mission that feels both thrilling and terrifying. But the glue holding this movie together are the themes of hope, faith, and grace. It’s an apocalyptic nativity story. It’s probably my favorite movie.

One of the best films I’ve ever seen. I love the premise, the acting was great, and the ending was incredibly satisfying. I think it’s a must-watch.
I guess the problem with the content is the violence, which is very intense but mostly bloodless. A couple times the violence spikes but it’s overall not too common. There’s a lot of talk of infertility and pregnancy, but we never see any actual sex. There’s a bit of strong language but it’s not consistent. Overall, I highly recommend this movie and I hope that people will continue to discover it.

A pointless display of graphic violence for titillation sake
Much of it didn't make sense. Political messages abound. Message 1. The world sucks. Message 2. Authorities bad. Refugees good. At one point the lead character is escorting his ward out of the "safe" zone of England when thugs attack their car. No reason is given for the attack and indeed (spoiler alert) the ppl attacking belong to the same political group as those in the car, They know them personally. Why would they risk shooting the girl and why kill one of their own? And why draw attention to themselves from the authorities when the girl and protagonist were on their way to meet up with them?! It's like the director said, yeah let's get ppl shooting at the car while their driving. It's a stupid movie toying with your emotions graphically killing off ppl for no reason. I don't care about realistic war scenes when it's total anarchy. I want a protagonist with some character to begin with not some greedy emotionless loser.

Very interesting and action-filled Sci-Fi movie. Awesome!
If you have ever played Half Life 2, this movie's style will look very similar to you. The graffiti-lined crumbling walls, the controlled, dictated cities, and the desperate rebels all give a tense, cold atmosphere to the movie as the human race is closing in on extinction. It's very bloody and violent, most of it being gun violence. Brief nudity, nothing too bad in that department other than the childbirth scene as stated. Something you might wanna see if you're a fan of Si-Fi action!

An Incredibly, Almost Uncomfortably Realistic Sci-Fi Masterpiece.
This is a great film. It is one of the best, most realistic sci-fi films ever made. And there within lies the problem: it's TOO realisitc. I felt so uncomfortable watching this film because it was SO realistic. I almost couldn't bare it. I'm a tough guy, and I adore suspense and intensity, but I think I finally met my match. This was overwhelmingly intense and frenetic! It was exhausting trying to get through this film. But that's probably the most surprising part: I really liked this movie. It was bold, brutal (and parents, I mean BRUTAL; please don't let your kids watch), and highly realisitc vision of a dying world in the near future. This was a true masterpiece in sci-fi film making. But it's hard to say that I loved it when it was so hard to watch. Though afterwards, despite the gratuitous suspense and overwhleming sense of dread, there is a glimmer of hope. A glimmer that both makes you cry and puts a smile on your face. Bravo.

This is REAL SCI-FI
This film is what sci fi was meant to be. This is a brilliant post-apocalyptic scifi film. A very dark view of the future where women cannot give birth anymore and the entire human race is corrupting. Violence: Extreme. Characters are shot and killed and blood present. The whole film has a very dark and upsetting tone to it. Language: Some infrequent swearing Sexual content: None Drug Content: A character smokes pot
