call me crazy but i'm obsessed with chucky,he's so huggable, even if he is a crazed maniac doll
Good movie though
Andy must need theropy going through all that
Am I really supposed to say something here? Ok, I'll give it a shot.
It's a movie about a serial killer inside a creepy doll...
Erm... For any parents out there who just read what I typed, would you let your toddler watch it? If so, read what I typed one more time. I do not mean to insult parents who do allow their children to see this but... Serial killer in creepy doll's body. This is a series people! It does not stop here, and it gets worse. You start off thinking it's ok, but when your kid wants to see the next one... Yeah. Anyway, I would recommend watching it first before showing it to your kid. That's... that is all I can say for this one. Thanks for reading!
Child's play was awesome. It wasn't scary to me at all when I watched it at 12. It was kind of funny in some ways. I mean think about it. A little doll walking around killing people? The only part that scared me a little was when the mother put the doll into the fire, and it bit her. The special effects were so 80s that it was laughable. I am catching up on my Child's Plays because of the remake coming out soon. The best time to watch (which is when I did) is on Halloween night.
Hilarious movie! Despite great performances by all the actors, including Chucky, it's very hard to take this movie seriously. There is violence (Chucky hits a woman on the head with a hammer, hits a kid with a bat, stabs an ankle with a scalpel, and even fries a guy with a shock tester, though it's not shown realisticly since the guys face turns black). No sexual content, except for a scene where a hobo starts to rape the heroine, but is interrupted by a cop. Lot's of cursing from Chucky's mouth, and the child actor actually quotes Chucky when he say's b***h. That part surprised me, I don't like hearing children curse. Terrible movie, but older teens will get a few laughs out of it.
Child's Play is one of my favorites. Chucky is very funny with some of the off-the wall or random comments but some may find this crude and ridiculous. Personally I think this is a good thing for kids to watch only because it's probably a mild horror film compared to what is going on in them today. This was one of my first. I realized that a doll being possessed could happen in real life. There could be situations like this in the world. The devil can take over anything and he choose a good guys doll, who posed as Charles Lee Ray.It will give you a laugh every now and then though. Like he thinks if he bites he'll kill the victims.
Well your reading a review from a girl who actually bought the Child's Play doll! LOL!
I saw this just a while ago and it was more humourus than scary. Andy is mostl the hero and not many people help him until Chucky finaly kills numoruse people. youd probably will see more vilolence in Indiana Jones Kingdom of the crystal skull. the only bloody part is when Chucky kills the voodo priest who taught him the spell. In the end Chucky dies (until the next one) so good defeats evil as far as you know.
Recomended for tweens and up but not for smaller kids
I loved the plot line and the over all movie. It had a good plot and it made sence, It adopted that fear everyone gets when they ask when their little if their toy is real. I highly recomend this movie
The first time I saw Chucky, I was scared that it'd be too violent, but the truth is, if they cut out all the swearing, this would probably be a PG-13(or PG) rated movie. I thought that they were just gonna curse on that one paticular part, so I fast-forwarded it. But everywhere I fast-forwarded it to, they were spitting out the B-word or the S-word, and they just had to push it when they said the F-Word! That's my perspective of this movie. I heard that they were going to make a remake of Child's Play that would come in theaters 2011, and I really want to see if that is going to be better with language.
this movie is laughable, but enjoyable. it will make you jump, but then laugh because of how dumb it is. it is a classic now and i recamend it to anyoone who likes horror movies and a good laugh
Dear Me.,
If you think that the special efffects are so bad I will let you know that Don Mancini is planning on remaking the first Child's Play,... It's supposed to be a darker and scarier retelling of the story (mostlikely with more gore)... But I liked the original...
I am 11 and me, my mom, and my little 8- year old sister saw this on TV (my mom had seen it before so she let us watch it, even though we had to change the channel a few times. We started watching when Chucky pushed the baby-sitter out the window.) And I never heard any swearing, maybe it was before we started watching it. My mom's really strict but there wasn't anything too iffy. Not that violent for a horror movie but yeah, for the younger kids, this is a no because my little sister got really scared at night (she was over it soon but still.) 11+ is best.
why is this movie rated R? this movie should of been rated PG-13!
only 2 people die in this movie. but other violence is where people get really hurt. only 3 f-words, 2 b-words, 1 a-word. but good movie.
If you liked "Poltergeist", you'll like this movie. It was very suspenseful, especially during Chuck'y first killing. There are multiple F words and other bad words. The killings were not as bloody as you would think. 2 bodies that were killed were blood-sopping after they were actually dead, and blood shot out of the body during 2 other killings. Kids under 12 would definitely be scared, but it's great for the teens. The part that I covered my eyes on was when Chucky put an electric shocker on a man's head, and it toasted the guy to where he was burnt and bloody on his face. The ending was kind of a question, because you don't know if they really did get rid of Chucky or not. Watch this in the dark!
probably the worst movie i have ever seen. when this came out in 1988, there was a very popular doll called 'My Buddie' or something like that, and they looked like chucky, the murdurous doll from 'child's play'. so this movie was basically made to make money. and the language is an issue too. chucky F-bombs practically every scene. Don't waste your time seeing it.
Good for middle schoolers or very mature elementary schoolers.
I saw this movie when I was probably seven or eight, and it didn't scare me at all, but I could understand how it could scare some kids of that age-- especially since kids have dolls, and the antagonist is of course a serial killer reincarnated into the form of a doll-- so parents would have to take into consideration how mature their kids are and how their kids react to horror movies. But kids over 10 definitely should be able to handle it. It's not a scary movie at all, in my opinion, and it is in fact pretty funny. It's violent at times, though.
its not a very scary movie. but it is violent. some people will laugh at the movie more that be afraid of it. its a very good horror movie. people under 10 might find it frightning. some PG-13 movies are worst than this. a bit of violence. the scene were the vodo doll is stabed and the mans chest bleeds is a bit intense and the scene were blood comes out of the mans eyes and mouth. a few f words b words ect.. A MUST SEE MOVIE!!
