Classic Chipmunks
The Chipmunk Adventure is, in my opinion, better than the recent CGI Chipmunk movies. There's no dumb pop culture references, no bizarre helium-filled song covers-- just good, old-fashioned chipmunks.
Areas of concern for parents include: lots of smoking, mild peril, and mild suggestive lyrics/movements. Most of this stuff will fly right over kids' heads, though. The chipmunks also deceive their babysitter by recording a fake phone message.
As far as story quality goes, it's basically the Chipmunks and Chipettes flying around the world in hot air balloons. The settings are hardly remarkable, but there are some negative stereotypes. Compared to the recent movies, however, the Chipmunks and Chipettes are much sweeter and less cheeky.
One of my favorite movies!

The main draw here is the songs.
The main draw here are the original songs that you can only get in the sound track that got released with it. I hear this was released in the 80s. I think it may have been the peak of American animation, who am I kidding? They only put the good stuff (like this and My Little Pony And Friends, in all its nightmare fuel) on DVD and even then a lot of the good stuff doesn't make it.( Where art thou, Kamiya Taichi?) One day all the shows and movies will only be on Bluerays, in 3D and on digital copy, and of course, classics will carryon forever, no matter how well they'd do if they were released in times like today, even plot wise. Some of the great stuff would continuo on, and some that are just fine, as well. So I guess I wouldn't be able to tell without a working VCR. But back this movie, what I'm supposed to be reviewing, not just ranting about something that happened long before I was born. So yeah this good.
