While I have to admit the violence was there I don't think it was that excessive. I am a very strict parent when it comes to what movies we allow in our home but the moral lessons of this movie far outweight the violence.

- Excessive violence
Your young princes deserve a better movie!
The battle scenes were excessively violent and did not add to the story. We understand the conflict and only one face-off is necessary. Very gratuitous and not much else.

It was PG, what?!
The only reason this movie was PG was because of a few comiedic relief lines and the fact that the first one was PG. Very very very Dark for a PG off for 8 and younger. 9-12 parents cautioned. P.S. Twilight even wasn't as dark.

Freakishly Weird Creatures!
If your kids are afraid of monsters, don't let them watch this movie before bed. With griffens, ox things, talking anmals, dwarfs, and a water monster they'll have lots of nightmares. There is a fight in the beginning, and Caspian barely escapes death. Durring an invasion of the castle many are left behind to die at the clutches of Mireas and Trumkin is abused.Twards the end there is an extensive sward fight between Peter and Mireas. At the end when Susan and Peter leave Narnia for the last time Susan and Prince Caspian.

Loved this movie!
I loved this movie. When I was 10-14 years old I would have watched this movie over and over because of the great battle sequences. It was really fun to watch and was entertaining throughout.

Not as good as the first.
My one complaint is that at heart this was basically a fight movie. I would have liked to see more than just the battles.

Dark and not as faithful to the book as I would have liked.
This was an exciting movie. Beautifully shot and animated parts semmed realistic. A fitting sequel to the first movie. But I didn't like some of the stuff they put in that wasn't in the book and how they changed the characters. I am a huge fan of the Narnia books and believe that Hollywood destroys the spirit of most of the books they turn into films. They did a fairly good job in this movie, but some things still bothered me. The actor playing Prince Caspian was too old, and I felt they used him to make the movie more appealing to older teens. Also the boy interested in Susan in the beginning, and the budding romance between Caspian and Susan were completely uneccessary to the plot and again put in the raise the age appeal. As in the first movie, Peter is much less noble and too self centered. But Lucy is a gem and Edward gets to show he isn't the same bratty, immature kid as in the first movie. Susan? Well, I never liked Susan in the books or in the movies. Some of the additions were actually pretty good. I thought the White Witch segment was great. Even though some of the movie bothered me, it was better than most Hollywood books turned into movies.

EXCELLENT!
I loved this movie even more the second time I saw it! I have always been a Narnia fan, however, sequals tend to be dissapointing, This movie did not disappoint me. I recommend this movie to anyone. The additional sword fighting was fun for all and blood free, Excellent graphics made it entertaining and the humor was great. I can't say enough how much I liked this movie and how family friendly I think it is. I would/did take all of my kids to see it and plan to buy the dvd...

A quality interpretation of the classic novel
I'm surprised this movie didn't get a stronger endorsement. It's dark and scary, and makes for a great movie, since conflicts are what movies are all about. This is not a film for kids who have nightmares, but great for the pre-teen crowd.

SHOULD BE PG-13!!!!
This was a wonderfully captivating and suspenseful story... for adults. Because of the PG rating, I thought it would be ok for my kids... I was shocked by the amount of violence in the film. During the film, my daughter turned to me and said "if you die, who will be my mother?" Seriously, don't take kids under 8 or 10 depending upon their maturity level.
I rate this title iffy for age 11 and give itAn amazing movie, much better than the first!
This movie was much better than the first, though it did not follow the book as well. The violence in this movie is pushing the limits for a PG movie, and I personally think it should have recieved a PG-13 rating. Most kids will enjoy this movie, however only kids aged 11 and up will not mind the violence. Sex is limited to flirting and a kiss, which really shouldn't have been in the movie at all

Inspirational !
I thought better than the first.. more action and I was so caught up in it...It was a movie about faith, courage, chivalry, integrity... It also reminded me of how only Joshua and Caleb (the two spies of the 12 that Moses sent to check out the promised land (Canaan) that believed that they could enter and take the Land that God had promised them.) They believed because God would be with them... Lucy and Edmond believed that Ashlan was near to guide them... ( Ashlan, according to author C.S. Lewis, symbolizes Jesus Christ) while Peter and Susan thought it was time to take matters into their own hands.... The movie ends with Peter saying that Susan and he would not be coming back to Narnia if he understood right...although Edmond and Lucy would..do you remember the talk and walk susan and peter had with Ashlan near the end of the movie. any way I have been studing about Caleb and Joshua; men who followed after God with their whole heart... that is a meaning of many in the movie... It was done very well i love it ...You know CS Lewis was a contemporary a friend actually of Tolkein.. who wrote the Lord of the Rings triology... I saw simular symbols used.... like the trees dancing.in this CS Lewis masterpiece.... i loved Tolkiens Ents as well.

Very violent
I was so uncomfortable with the violence that I walked out of the theater. "No blood and gore" does not make a movie non-violent. I found it particulary disturbing to watch children killing people. My daughter will not be watching this movie until she is 13 or older. We'll stick with the books.

Way too violent for children under 10
I took my 7-year old son to this movie and was astounded at how violent it was. The 'war' was similar to Braveheart and Lord of the Rings (R-rated films; the one-on-one combat between Prince Caspian and his uncle was stressful even for me. My son's hands were sweating throughout most of the movie, and he's pretty tolerant of mild violence due to his passion for computer games.

Not too intense
Despite my misgivings, we were invited and I to see this movie with my daughers who are 6 & 8. My 8-1/2 year old daughter LOVED this movie. This daughter is also enjoying the Warrior series of books. It was not at all too intense; I thought that imagery in this movie was less disturbing than the LLW. My 6yo, as I expected did not follow the plot, and sometimes covered her eyes, but reported afterwards that liked the movie. I think she enjoyed was movie going experience rather than the movie itself, but it wasn't too much for her.

A Rousing and Engrossing Film that makes for a Worthy Sequel...
NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE engrossed me in a way most movies didn't. I was impressed with the child actors, especially the two youngest, and I loved watching Tilda Swinton as the White Witch and Liam Neeson as Aslan. The plot was brilliantly original and outstandingly kid-friendly. I've been eagerly awaiting a sequel. I wasn't disappointed. When it gets past its slow start, PRINCE CASPIAN takes off at full force with roaring lions, child warriors, full-scale sieges and battles, and a plot that is just as good as the first. The acting is a bit less amiable now that we are missing Tilda and James McAvoy as Tumnus, but our four favorite kids are back and are better than ever. Violence is the only questionable issue in the movie. Large battles are pervasive and the body count is huge, but the only time I saw blood was a small drop on a man's lip after being punched. Think of the battle at the conclusion of the predecessor. The violence is like that, only the armies are larger and it is more constant. Young kids might be afraid of the scene where a Hag and Werewolf almost ressurect the White Witch (it's not that bad). A great movie, and appropriate for most all. Highly recommended.

I loved it, but not for young children
I really enjoyed this movie. It was fun to see the Pevensie kids a little more grown up, and I think the intensity and message of the movie has matured with them. I went back and watched the first movie again, and I do agree with others that have said this one is more overtly violent. It was not very bloody or gory, but I would not recommend this for younger or sensitive children. The scary grizzly bear threatening to attack an unsuspecting Lucy and the scene with the the two creatures trying to summon the white witch could be scary to young ones, as well as the long, drawn out sword fight between Peter and Caspian's Uncle. There are also a couple of long battle scenes in which people are clearly injured or killed (good guys and bad) and in one of them a lot of the good guys are trapped and left behind to be killed, which could be upsetting to older kids who can understand what's really happening. Like I said, I loved this movie, and I'm sure plenty of kids will too, but I came away kind of wondering how it wasn't PG13. If you're concerned over how much violence your kids are allowed to see, you will probably want to screen this one first, or take the younger/sensitive kids to a different movie.

Not great, but good.
As with the book, I did not like this story as much as the first one, but it was reasonably faithful to the material. There is a lot of war with themes of betrayal and revenge, however the resolution of these themes is handled well and teaches good lessons. The fighting might be slightly above a PG rating at a few moments, but the blood is minimal and the violence is meaningful to the overall themes.

Wow! Better than the first one!
This sequel to the first Narnia movie was even better than "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" according to my 10 year old son. The intriguing story of the Pevensie sibling's long-awaited return to Narnia was exciting and intriguing with a story of war and betrayal. There were many actions by Prince Caspian's people, the Telmurines, that were morally questionable that many children will be confused about (especially towards the end in the fight scene). I would also warn about the scene where the Telmurine King tells the General (in so many words) to pretend that they were attacked by Narnians and to kill innocent soldiers to save face to the people. A very sad scene where Narnians are trapped inside the castle to die was also hard for my 8-year-old daughter to take, but absolutely no blood or gore was involved. The power struggle between Peter and Caspian is also a very subtle and mature theme that does not get fully developed (and I'm not sure if it does in the boo). However, the storyline of Lucy's faith in Aslan's love for them and his magic is very powerful. My kids though that the magic of Aslan and when Lucy had the dream about Aslan with the trees coming to life at the end was the best part of the whole movie. This movie was aimed at an bit older audience than the first Narnia, as I think appropriate. I would highly recommend this movie, but be prepared for younger children to have questions about the actions of people who are greedy for power.

Good, solid movie.
Very, very tame in terms of language. I was actually very surprised with it, it was a lot better than I expected it to be. Plenty of violence for the older kids and talking animals for the yougner ones. Younger viewers may be disturbed at a certain part when many talking animals are locked in a castle and killed with arrows. There are many deaths, lots or action, but very little blood.
- I rate this title on for age 5 and give it
Very Good Adaptation of the Book!
Apart from the embelishments to a scene where several Narnians attempt to call forth the White Witch and the allusions to a Caspian/Susan romance, the movie fulfilled my expectations from the novel. Excellent symbolism and many sequences that true to the novel portray spiritual significance.

Pretty Good
I liked this movie, but it was not as good as the first movie. I went to see it with my 4th-8th grade class, and I saw it with my mom, dad, and 8 year old brother. I was a little surprised at the first part especially with my brother watching it. It is a lot more violent than the last movie also. I would give it an A- and reccomend it to anyone 10 and up.

Perfect Action/Adventure movie
I know lots of people think that this movie is too scary for kids, and it might be for some children, but my brother, whose almost 7, saw it when it came out last year. He loves the movie and so do I. It has a good plot, and great visual effects. And there is no inappropriate content.

Great Movie
I really love this movie! It was so good. The only thing in this movie is that Susan kisses Prince Caspian at the end. It's even better than the first. Your children may be frightened by the violence in this movie. People are killed, and tons of swords are involved. This is a great movie.

Great Follow Up
Some people would call me crazy, but I have quite liked the Narnia movies over the Narnia books. C.S. Lewis's books were very creative and magical to say the least, but his writing style is bland, boring, and unintriguing to me. I've also always thought it rather silly that he went from Christian to Athiest back to Christian, and then wrote books with alarming amounts of religious fiber in them. Oh well. Apart from that, the cinematography, special effects, and sets of PC are amazing. Unfortunately, I was let down by the music. It was inspiring in LW&W, but it seemed recycled in PC. The acting was alright. I was glad to see little Georgie Henley wasn't tear-streaked in every other scene. Overall, an awesome film. It'll be fun to see how the Voyage of the Dawn Treader is handled. I thought it was an awful book, and I don't usually say that about books.

Liking this film is the 8th deadly sin
Wow, is this movie bad. It is so bad, in fact, that Common Sense was tricked into thinking it was good. Poor, poor Common Sense. I went with a group of 7 people (including me), 5 of us despising it terribly, the 2 who liked it are still being tested for signs of mental insanity. Let's start with one of the most interesting elements of the first film, how they get to Narnia: then, they walked through an enchanted wardrobe, now, Lucy gets ppinched in the subway station, "it feels like magic", they decide to hold hands and end up on the Island (wasn't the first one in a forest?) Second problem: The old man tha comes out of the water and eats everyone. Need I say more? Problem numero 3: The hilariously out of place pop song placed after Susan's kiss with Prince Caspian. #4: THE PLOT! There simply isn't one!!!!!! The Prince's dad dies, people come, there's a mouse, a main dude dies. Now, stretch that for 2 1/2 hours, and you have the horror that is Prince Caspian. Now, as far as age appropriateness (if that's a word) I would say that it's pretty tame, lots of fantasy violence but no blood (another hilarious mistake.) So, by readinng this review, I saved you 2 hrs. and 25 mins., and $10. Thank me later.

A good sequel to The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
I went to see Prince Caspian with my dad and I thought that it was pretty good. I had already read the book so I knew what happened but some of the scenes are intense like the one between Peter and Miraz. Probably the movie is best for 8 and older unless you know that your kids can handle it. You might also want to prepare younger kids for the violence that will come up. It's not that violent, there's like no blood, people do die but you just see them get hit by arrows or whatever and then they fall down dead. I think that the movie could've been better in some ways like sticking closer to the book. There is one scene that is definitely not in the book and I think that that it could've been taken out and the time used on other things like developing the characters more or something. But still a great movie and you should read the book if you haven't. Read all 7 books about the world of Narnia!
