Fantastic, Original, Controversial, NOT FOR KIDS.
This is probably the most graphical, and most twisted film I have seen. At the same time. It is so incredibly well done, it simply cannot be ignored. This film weaves an interesting, terrifying, and shockingly graphic tale. There are almost no good role models, nearly all main characters engage in horrible, immoral, violent, and sexual behavior. This movie is filled with merciless brutality, often inflicted upon the innocent. The violence includes, but is not limited to: Multiple accounts of very graphic on-screen rape, many extremely violent beatings and murders, attempted suicide, torture, police brutality, and other such horrible acts. There is also EXTREMELY Graphic On-Screen Sexual Content. Including, full female nudity, and male nudity, and several scenes in which the sex is almost entirely visible. Including the afore mentioned Rape. Just to be able to grasp some idea of what I am talking about, I might mention that this film was originally rated X. Surprisingly NO foul language in this film whatsoever. In fact, in replacement of the usual insulting words, very colorful and seemingly sophisticated phrases are used. Much ado about drugs, main characters drink drugged milk to sharpen their instincts and focus. The "Droogs" use this ability to violently harm innocent citizens. In this society, it is shown how it is possible to get a kick, or a high, out of violence. They use it like a drug. And refer to it as Ultra Violence. Anyway, I would not recommend this film for anyone under 18+. As it conveys such a disturbingly violent story, younger viewers might be too shocked by the graphical content to understand the true message, and the more subtle undertones.

Let Anyone Watch It
This movie is a masterpiece! I watched it for the first time when I was 6 and I loved it then. The nudity, violence, and cursing weren't too much for me because the movie is not glorifying it. I knew that it was a bad thing that they were doing. That didn't make me want to do it. If you're a parent, you know that your children aren't dumb. They will be able to understand the mature themes if you let them watch it. You can tell your children what is in it and ask them if they are ready. Let them pick the right time for this movie. Just be confidant in your child's maturity. The violence and rape all contribute to the story and avoiding it in movies won't teach your children that it is wrong. Nobody would ever really want to be Alex so don't worry about bad role models. Just be prepared to answer your children's questions.

Nothing wrong its just a movie
Okay seriously are we still judging movies by there content and restricting them from kids because they have to much nudity or they are to violent seriously i am 14 and saw this movie when i was 13 there is nothing wrong with it yes it has nudity but thats part of every day life the fact that anything was wrong with the nudity would go right over kids heads its just fine there is barely any violence or language just nudity i mean ive seen everything from goodfellas to the godfather and even scarface and those movies are just fine to just like any movie so please stop judging things by their content and just let your kids watch them it

Oh My
Well, this movie is definetly not as bad as people say it is. It's a classic, a masterpiece, and actually has some lessons that can be learned. The violence is pretty tame.

A classic that shouldn't be dismissed.
I first read the book for my school's literature club my junior year and fell in love with it. Sure, it's extremely violent and very sexual, especially once 'viddied' in the film, but that shouldn't make anyone dismiss it because it really is an amazing film. Obviously most parents would not want their children watching such acts of violence and definitely not the rape and nudity, but for teenagers and adults who have seen plenty of that in real life and other movies, it's fine... if you don't have a problem with it, of course. All I'm saying is that the movie is a masterpiece (hello, look at all the awards it won/was nominated for) and has a great philosophical message about the importance of choice in life (one of my favourite quotes ever: ?"When a man cannot choose, he ceases to be a man."). Like most great works of art that include many things that may be considered taboo to certain groups, A Clockwork Orange surely pushes boundaries as a film and as a piece of modern literature (and social commentary). The violence and sexuality are central to the plot and therefore indispensable in a film like this. For teenagers especially, like myself and my peers, the movie is best watched from a subjective and artistic point of view as obviously we shouldn't go around dispensing the old 'in-and-out' or 'ultra-violence' to random people. It's a great movie for those who appreciate literature and good old cult classics with a message, like I do. Oh, but there is a problem with the film that differs it from the novella and might just tip the minds of those who say that it doesn't have a good message: the last chapter. Kubrick's adaptation leaves out Burgess' final chapter in which Alex meets up with his former droog Pete who is married, which makes him rethink his goal in life. If this is taken into account, the whole message of the story is definitely positive as it tells us that not only do we, as humans, require autonomy to live properly, but that we should always be looking to improve ourselves because even those who were once bad (and were brainwashed to be good and then allowed to choose to be bad again) may end up deciding (on their own) to become better citizens. (And don't forget the social/political commentary on totalitarianism and how governments should deal with crime)

Horrible.
This films sucks, I don't understand how any one could like it. It has disturbing violence, bad language, sex, rape, drugs all involving teens. These teens are literally obsessed with this stuff, and they enjoy doing it. They beat people up, and brutally rape women. A young lad kills an innocent woman horribly, smashing her face in. They all just do everything they shouldn't be doing. They all take drugs, in milk. There are 2 uses of f**k, infrequent uses of s**t, but frequent uses of bas****. I hate it, and considering it was made in the 70's, it's is so, so violent and disturbing

I personally love this movie and the book. The dialogue and sets are unique and so is the idea, it is a masterpiece. I saw this for the first time when i was 14 and i will admit i may have been a bit young to have seen it. However i think that if the teenager is mature then it would be alright for them to watch since the violence and nudity are not portrayed in a positive manner. This film is thought provoking in terms of choice and free will. Overall i thought it was wonderful, but not for everyone, it is a rather odd piece and those who like to stick to the norm and don't care for some of the strange stuff that expands ones mind should stay away or wait til they are older.

Intriguing and excellent Kubrick masterpiece for older teens only
The title of the review says it all. This is one of Kubrick's masterpieces, one of his finest. It is also a film featuring rape, excessive nudity and sexuality, brutal violence, and vulgarity. For film buffs, it's a must-see.

Depends on your childs intelligence.
I wouldn't recommend letting your children watch this unless you think they will understand the meaning behind it. It delves deep into the concept of choice, and whether or not it is moral to take away the choice of right and wrong. Some children may not understand that, so to them, it is just a violent movie about rape and torture. If your children wish to watch the movie, don't tell them they can't and to avoid awkwardness, don't watch it with them, but perhaps have a psychological discussion with them afterwards. As a teenager, I can tell you, they will find a way to watch it whether you say yes or not, but you might as well be there to explain some of the more complicated thoughts in this movie.

A Clockwork Orange Might Be Not As Bad As People Say
One of the greatest films of all time does have a sex scene( which is fast forwarded through and hard to see but very graphic. Another woman is raped(off screen) but you can see her completely naked. The violence, there is are shadows of Alex and his droogs beating up an old man with a cane (not too graphic). Alex murders a woman with a statue but it is also offscreen. The main thing to worry about this movie with teens is that teens will find Alex Delarge irresistibly cool and might want to imitate him. Parents must remember that the content in this film like the nudity and the sex scene isn't too much of a problem. If your child is easily influenced by the media than you might want to wait until they are older. Also, this film is also a little sexist. This shouldn't be a problem for any kid 13 and up who can handle the fact that they should not copy Alex.

If You Can Stand It . . . Watch It
GREAT FILM. If you have read the book and can handle think you can handle the movie I strongly recommend it. If you are mature enough to handle the violence/sex, I strongly recommend it. I can say which ages this is appropriate for, because I believe that it is the level of maturity that matters.

Amazing and brilliant
It's an amazing and intriguing Kubrick film, filled with violence and sexual content. However, after seeing most of the movie, I must say that the upward review isn't very fair. The sexual content is mainly nudity (full body or otherwise), and there isn't any actual sex except for two scenes: one being a 44-second sped up scene of two girls with Alex to the William Tell overture, and another 10-second or less scene at the end. There is another during the Ludovico treatment in the middle of the film, but not much is shown. There are a lot of nude pictures in the movie, decorating the homes and buildings, and there is a ceramic phallus in the cat-lady scene. It is very violent, with beatings and rape, and there are 2 deaths, off scene, and both are by accident. The gang scene is cool, with a lot of chairs and falling. As for language, there are a few light ones, and the bas**** word is said a few times, maybe one or two S words, and two uses of the F word. The rest are in nadsat, so there's no point in including them as actual cursings. In any case, watch it fully at least once! PS, in most cases, the book is worse. Second PS; the Milk-plus drinks that the droogs drink in the film are laced with Drencrom, Synthmesc, or Vellocet (I memorized them XD), which are like LSD drugs. It makes them sharper for a bit of the old Ultra-violence. There's a deeper meaning to this film and in the book, and reading both will hopefully ensure the full understanding. It is not a film to be taken lightly.
