The Da Vinci Code is the coolest thriller iv'e watched in years. this movie will have you saying "so dark the con of man" after you see it. This film brings out the beginings of a perfect trilogy. Tom Hanks does a great job playing the role of Robert Langdon (Harvard Symbolgist). This Film is a good conspiracy thriller and I see a sequel coming.

What Parents Need to Know
About The Da Vinci Code
Parents need to know that the movie opens with a brutal murder and includes several other bloody scenes, including a naked man beating himself. The subject matter is too convoluted to interest young kids, so unless you want to shush them, leave them home. A couple of characters use mild profanity, although most of the cursing shows up in French and in subtitles. SPOILER ALERT: The film's plot, based on Dan Brown's best-selling novel, suggests that the Catholic Church has for centuries repressed the "truth" that Jesus was human, married Mary Magdalene, and fathered a daughter. Some viewers may find the issues raised -- Jesus' divinity and the Church's cover-up -- upsetting.

Fine for teens to watch if they can handle blood and violence
This movie is fine for kids to watch if they can handle blood and violence. Violence is the only reason why this movie is rated PG-13. I personally can't stand blood. I had to fast forward through a few parts of the movie. All in all, it's a good movie and it's worth watching. Just be prepared for blood...

i was plesently supprised!
i really enjoyed this movie, although i had to skip over a lot of scenes in which the guy is torturing himself. parents should know that there is a LOT of violence, (guns, knifes, and physical torture.) no language that i noticed, no sex, although there is some nudity. (a naked dead body, and a man who is naked while praying to god, don't worry; you only see from the torso up!) overall this is a good movie, if not a tad long, but only for older tweens and up.

not appropriate for children of any age
This movie was violent and disturbing; I could not sit through it. Completely inappropriate for tweens and younger teens, and I really wouldn't recommend it even for older teens.

Pretty good, but loooooong.
It was really good. Violent (understatement) but good. It seriously confused most of my friends, though, and some of my friends got it. It was reallly long, though- it's, like, two and a half hours, and it feels like it. I think that the controversial issues are pointless- If it offends your religion, then why watch it in the first place? Overall, good for 13+, but extremely violent.

Good movie but the book was better
The movie was good but the book was much better. The movie drags on a bit compared to the fast pace the book has. I think they should have stuck to the story the book was trying to convey instead of trying to please the church by cutting out many of the parts about jesus' life and some peoples beleifs on it. You just need to know your kids. There are many violent scences but if you let them read the book then they should be fine because the book was much more graphic then the movie.

The best movie! The best book!
The Da Vinci Code is a mature movie for adults. I think I got to see this movie because I read the book, but none of my friends saw it, and I couls tell why. There was a lot of sexual behavior, and a lot of strong language (usually in subtitles). This movie was way off and is not appropriate for any kid, unless they are the smarty-pants of the grade or have read the book.

Good, but not as good as the book
This is a good movie, but the producers are lucky the MPAA gave them a PG-13 rating. The violence shown in this movie is really gory at some points, mostly when Silas whips himself and wears a barb wire belt around his thighs. Also, many people are shot and hit on the head and violently attacked in many ways. In one scene, you see Silas' naked backside and in another, you see about a one second shot of two people having sex. Also, one man is shown naked when he is dead, but lower extremities are censored buy stratigeically placed lighting. Language wise, there are some uses of the s-word, but nothing any more extreme. All in all, this movie was good, but some people might get bored consdering it it 150 minutes long.

umm....the book is sooo much better
ok...here's the thing: the movie sucks. the book was so much better. tom hanks is a great actor but he didn't seem like robert langdon. langdaon and sophie didn't have any on-screen chemistry like thet did in the book. and..they change sooo much, like the whole ending. it sucks!!
