cute
very cute and heartwarming. dan is the ideal dad in the movie, even if his daughters don't always realize it. very safe, and a good movie to watch for bonding time between parents and children.

This is HILARIOUS and barely deserves it's PG-13 rating.
Take away some language and it's be PG. I really love this movie. I saw it when I was 9 and it was totally fine.

Great Family Movie
Love it! I think it's good for any age with a little editing by parents. Love the family relationships in it.

"This corn is like an angel."
At first glance this may seem just like the typical film portraying a charming father, his 1-3 children, and the effort to return to normal after the death of a much-loved mother--the father insisting all the while that true love only happens once, while the forces of love act on him and eventually convince him to let go of the past and focus on the future. Actually, that's exactly what this film is. But a combination of Steve Carrell's hilarious performance, a great cast, and a soundtrack filled with music by Norwegian singer/songwriter Sondre Lerche manage to make this a successful film. Steve Carrell is funny in a quieter, more subtle way than he is in his other movies, and the result is that he has no trouble fitting right into this family-oriented romantic comedy, which is not his typical film. Yes, it's predictable, but it's also heart-warming and filled with laugh-out-loud moments. Sometimes there's nothing more refreshing than a movie like Dan in Real Life, which ends just how you think it should end, although with surprises along the way.

There's no swearing a kid is in most every scene, the only scene where they talk with a double meeting is once, but it will go over most kids heads.

I wanted to cry but kept laughing...
I went to see this movie with my bf for our first date... i teared up a little but could not stop laughing... my bf and i were talking about it afterwards and we bot thougt it could have been funnier but i was glad it wasn't... i reated it iffy on the ex part because of the shower thing... the thing i liked most about this movie ws that lots of dads around the world would things dan(steve carrel) did in this movie so it was easy to relate to... I loved it mainly just because my bf and i are still dating after 10 months which means something clicked on that first date...

worth your time
This movie is one of absolute favorites. Its a great story of a dad who has to raise 3 girls on his own. There are sad parts, funny parts, serious parts. Some parts were so funny they had me in tears and other parts were so sad it made you laugh Overall this movie is fantastic. The producer was able to pull of a fantastic movie without an excess of swearing( 2 words), sex ( there wasn't any). I recommend this movie to all you enjoy a good laugh every now and then:) It'll cheer ya up trust me :)

Not very good
I thought that this movie was not very good. It is based on a sad subject and is about a depressed dad. There really wasn't anything bad it was just boring. ok for kids 12+

OMJ
SO i went to see this movie with my two closest friends and it was great. It was a little sad becuase they explain that their mother died and they all tear up. It was a great romance and I wish that I could've taken my boyfirned. A lot of the things that Dan(steve Carrel) did are things my dad would do. ( my dad is married to my mom and my mom is still alive) but i mean he would definetly spy on me in the coffee shop until my beau kissed me, embarres me, not let me drive, send my beau home from a trip that he snuck up to, and a lot of the material if very funny. I definetly reccomd this movie. I want to go see it again and then buy it. Hope this review helped.

This movie was incredibly akward, but it was a funny awkward. It was not the movie to see with a girlfriend, but to see with a friend from school. DEFINATLY!!!

I love Steve Carrel but this wasn't his best
Steve Carrel played a real life dad in this family comedy. The story was about a man who falls in love with his brothers sister. I found this movie could have been a little more funny. Not saying it wasn't funny. Anyone would enjoy this film, i certainly did.
