The 2004 remake of the 1978 George A. Romero directed Classic of the same name, follows the formula of the original film well enough, I guess. The only problem is, that we just don't really care: We don't care about the characters, we don't character if the entire zombie apocalypse takes over the world and the human race as we know it is annihilated and wiped out once and for all, and this time, for good. That's just the problem with this movie, it's dull, it's rehashed, the violence and is gory but uninspired, the acting is completely frozen and people faking panic and making crude banter. That's all this movie really is, just a static, dead (pun intended) movie. But, this movie, as you have already quiet obviously guessed before this review, this is certainly not a movie fr children, tween's or even most younger teens: There is lot's of strong bloody violence and gore with plenty of zombie eating people, people being dismembered, zombies being dismembered and more. Also, there is some sexual content such as two sex scenes, one passionate with nudity and the other, very quick, crude, explicit and just down right unnecessary to begin with. Finally, there is also lot's of strong language which is used throughout the movie, with about 53 F-words and its derivatives. Well, that's all, but, if you enjoyed the original film, than you may still possibly find some sort of entertainment value in this movie. I just didn't, that's all.

I really enjoyed this movie. Of course, it's pretty violent, but there are only a few parts that are grisly. Finally a remake of a classic that doesn't screw up huge.

This is one of the best scary movies i have watched!!!!! but there is a lot of blood, but thats why its a scary movie. THE LANGUAGE IS REALLY BAD!!!! so if your going to watch it on dvd you should be at least 15 and up because of the language. but if you watch it when its on tv where most of the language is out like i do then the movies really good and theres really only violence to worry about.

This movie is nothing for kids at all. It is rated R for many bad reasons.One is for sexuality and grusume Photos and scenes.One scary part is at the begining when the girls mouth was bit by a zombie! then the girl bit her father and her father died and became a zombie.Then the father tried to kill his wife.All of the survivors went to The mall to get away from the zombies. They thougt it was safe at the mall but it was not.Overtime more and more zombies came and tried to atack the survivors.

I think that the original was much better because of the more time spent in the mall. The original has a little bit more than just horror blood and guts. Also, the original has less main characters and centers on them. This causes less confusion and helps the viewers know more about the characters. Even though this movie was pretty good, you should watch the original. You'll probably know what I'm talking about.

Parents need to know that DAWN OF THE DEAD is extremely Violent,Gory,and very gross.Zombies die left to right,and some Characters die in Horrible ways.Zombies are shot,smashed,hit by cars,sliced off by Chainsaws,burned to death and more.Characters die from Zombie attacks or Zombie bites(which then they turn into Zombies and are then shot in the head.),and there's gallon's of blood,gore,and even brain matter.Also expect Frequent Strong Language("f**k" and "s**t"),Partial Nudity(Bare Breasts are seen three times),some sexual content and Brief Smoking.That alone is enough to make this only for mature,older teens,or those who can stomach the Gore. Messages:Negative 2/5 The movie is trying to make a point,that during a disaster like this,you have to pull through and work together,but that message comes half-baked,due to the large mistrust,and Violence the film has to offer,some Stereotyping. Role Models:Negative 1/5 When it Comes to Role Models,it's a pretty mixed bag,some characters are strong and supportive for one another,others are selfish and don't trust no one. Violence:5/5 The Violence is extreme and gross,with Zombies dying left to right,Zombies are shot in the head,hit by cars,sliced by Chainsaws,burned to death,smashed,stabbed and more.Characters die from Zombie Attacks and Zombie Bites,One Character gets sliced by a Chainsaw,another kills himself,and Characters are in constant peril.And there's ton's of Blood,Gore,and Brain Matter.In one graphic scene a child is being born,with blood being shown.And when the Characters aren't fighting off Zombies,they also have Verbal Confrontations against each other. Sex:4/5 A topless woman is shown briefly,A couple are shown kissing each other in the Shower,then maybe having Sex(No Nudity.),A man records himself in the middle of a sex act with another woman(breasts are quickly glimpsed.),and there's some innuendo/Sex talk.The end credits briefly show a topless woman on a man's Pleasure Cruise.A woman is Pregnant. Is it any good:Being a remake of the classic zombie film,DAWN OF THE DEAD resembles alot of the original.But thanks to the new director Zack Synder,he provides a few tricks up his sleeve,what he mostly did was add Stereotypes,raise the gross factor to eleven,and set everything in a mall,however this new format is a little uneven,and adding sex to the project doesn't help alot.And the movie's ending for some is less than satisfying(the alternate ending is pretty worthless,unless you want a more sad ending.). But still,it's hard to argue with how darkly entertaining this film is,thanks to it's shocking Violence,cheesy jokes,and fine performances from it's well-rounded cast.And there's even a horror movie cameo that viewers will not see coming.Even though the film is more gross than scary,there are some clever jump-outta your seat scares,and the film also has a good soundtrack too.Most Viewers will find this film highly disgusting and gross,but for those who can stomach the mayhem and gore will find this to be an entertaining,over-the-top,B Movie.
