Disappointing movie
This movie was very disappointing. It wasn't that great at all, it had the constant annoyance of "PEOPLE ARE KILLING THE EARTH", which is getting really old, stupid, and annoying. Sure, we definitely need to cut back on pollution, but saying we are killing the earth or "draining it of its resources" is a dramatic overstatement. Also, there is a fair amount of violence that may disturb young children.

better than the remake but still not that great.
This movie is okay in my opinion, for 12 and up. The original is dated and campy. This computerized remake was entertaining but you already know what you're in for whenever Keanu Reeves acts. The most upsetting piece is easily discounted with kids who realize they're only watching movie effects. But I do get a lot of 'what if' after this.

The Day the earth stood still is an example of what isn't broke shouldn't be fixed and this movie is a whole bunch of one-liners by Keanu Reeves. Skip it.

well, since it has Keannu Reaves in it, its bad. i dont get why it got such a high rating on commonsense, i saw it when i was 8. there was one part with blood for like a second, and there is also a nasty part where they stab a alien and take his guts out, but if you fast forward through that part this movie is OK for 8+

This was one of the, if not the, worst movie i have ever seen. It was boring, pointless, and full of CRAP! Keenu Reaves is monotone the ENTIRE MOVIE! I could have acted his part better...at least i would change my tone to make it seem that i was the least bit interested in acting the movie. and the big robot thing you see with the laser...POINTLESS! he just stands in central park or something the whole movie. i never fall asleep in any movie in the theater but i was darn close in this one. i think that a 4 year old could see this movie because there is nothing except some language. it is boring. Take the advice of someone who this movie was rated for and don't waste your saturday night or whatever on a load of crap. trust me, you won't regret it, no matter what your sci-fi friends say.

Acting ruined film.
first things first-bad acting by Keanu Reeves.
Iit could have potential, but the acting (not jjust by Keanu) ruined it. it also had some vviolent parts, including blood. in one rreally nasty scene they pull the aliens gguts out.

I found it enjoyable, but it can't top the original and is just aiming for special effects and action scenes, even though they aren't even 3 action scenes, it didn't live up to the hype.

Bad and product movie
This is the most dumb and worst remake. The orginal one is alot better then product placment and sucide making piece of CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry about that I frogot about my pills. Ok the original was about a alien that comes to earth to warn about a nuclear attack. It's a anti-war movie but go watch it. The remake is just a product placment like when what is it and it zooms into the citizen watch logo and there alot of microsoft and lg stuff. This i'll give a -130000000004435 yeah that low

Mature Kids Only
Well, I watched this movie with my family when I think I was 9 or 10 and I wasn't scared but I wasn't like most 9 or 10 year olds. An average 9 - 10 year old would NOT be able to watch this movie. The violence may be a little overwhelming. I think that the movie though was a little creepy with all the blood but better than some that I've seen.

acting is worse than the film.
i think it is a sort of good movie, but horrible acting by keanu reeves. there is one scene where an alien gets shot, and blood splatters all over someones helmet. the army is seen with guns sometimes, but they only use them once. a policeman is hit by a car at one part, and microscopic bugs kill people. there is one bad word in it, and it is very hard to notice. consumirisem for mcdonalds.

I wasn't expecting much for this movie, as the original was so good. But this was worse than expected. The first half actually held some promise, but it quickly went downhill from there. The plot was nonexistent, as was the script.There was no development of either the characters nor of the character's inter-personal relationships, although there were a few weak efforts. The only reason I even partly like this movie is because I am a fan of Keanu Reeves, but besides that it was pretty bad. I wouldn't particularly recommend it to anyone.

First off, this will not ever happen because God is in control of everything!!!! Second, weird movie with a weird plot. I was kind of bored thorugh the movie trying to figure out what was happening (which was not much). Nothing really happens, weird. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. THX and God Bless!!!!

Short of expectations
This movie was pretty good, but overall I was dissapointed. It came very short of what I expected to see in the remake of a movie which was probably even better than this. Some people might like it, but that is thier own opinion. The action in it was good and the special effects were awesome, so at least the movie didn't fail completely. The main problem was that most of the movie time was taken up with drama. BOTTOM LINE: IF YOU THINK THIS IS THE KIND OF MOVIE THAT SUITS YOU, WATCH IT.
