i think this movie looks great, i have to wait few years to watch it, or i have to watch it with my parents. ( rated R, strong brutal violence, pervasive language, some strong sexual content, drug material).

This is a very good, twist-filled action movie. It's filled with violence and profanity that over-lays a complicated storyline that is filled with twists and turns that keep u on your toes. Overall though this movie is a good choice for anybody over 14 years of age.

Great movie i can see why it won all those awards. However not for the squeamish as it is violent in parts but not nearly as bad as some have said. Sex wasnt really a huge problem prabably no worse than in some PG-13's ive seen. Language was bad F--k said in almost every sentance but not most teens hear it at school anyway.

This movie is not that bad as the rating says it is about sex, because there is only sexual slang and a time we see matt damon walking in a porn theater. Violence is graphic, blood splatters and there are barfights and shootings. There is also a chopped off hand in a plastic bag! WARNING SPOILER STARTS HERE. Neraly every main charachter good or bad dies in the end. SPOILER ENDS. Overall the movie was a sort of a modern day mafia movie.

Martin Scorsese's 2006 four time Oscar winner (including best picture and best director for Scorsese) was definitely considered a return to form for the iconic film directer who had tried his hand at many different genres, but always excelled the most and one particular one: The crime/mob drama. So, yes, he excels at it, once again. The Departed wouldn't be anything if it wasn't for Martin Scorsese's direction, the tough and brutal script, and of course, the actors, with a absolutely fantastic cast of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson (in one of the best performances of his career), Matt Damon, mark Walberg, Martin Sheen, Alex Baldwin and more. Really, the list of talent in this movie is too long to repeat. But, as great as this movie is, it is NOT for kids, in any way imaginable. This is a hard R, adults only movie, for a number of reason: Constant, non-stop strong profanity through including about 296 F-words and it's derivatives, but does not end there with many uses each of c-nt, ass, sh-t, h-ll, g-dd-mn, and more racial slurs than you can count. Also, there is frequent strong violence including many very bloody shootings and head shots, always resulting in graphic imagery. Also, there if infrequent but very strong sexuality, with a non-graphic sex scene, but with a brief image of a man's penis and frequent explicit sexual dialog between main characters. Finally, there is also frequent drug use, smoking and drinking, which for a while, take up part of the plot. Well, that's about it, but all I can say is this: If you think you've seen the best mob movies out there, but you haven't seen this one yet, then do yourself a favor and seriously check this one out, already.

Leonardo Dicaprio, Matt Damon, and Jack Nicholson all do an amazing job in this movie. I saw it when I was 10 and it is still my favorite movie ever!!! I would say 14 & up, but only for mature teens that can handle lots of violence, language, drinking, drugs, and smoking.
