Both of my kids, Braden and Sophi have seen it and LOVED it! I wondered what they could be boasting about, so decided to order it from Netflix. After watching it, I realized why they liked it so much. It was funny, realistic and great! A definite must for your Netflix queue, or on your Blockbuster list.

Extremely interesting tale of the fashion world
Sexual Content (Pause): Some sexual allusions, Andy has sex with a guy. Violence (Not an Issue): Emily is hit by a cab (at first played for comedy, but we later see her in the hospital). Language (Pause): Many uses of "s*it", a few uses of "hell" and "ass" (1 used with "-hole"), and 1 use each of "crap" and "bullocks" (a British swear). Social Behavior (Not an Issue): Lots of lying and decieving, but Andy is able to maintain her morality (for the most part, anyway). Commercialism (Pause): Seeing as this movie is all about fashion, there are lots of brand names dropped (such as Prada), Starbucks is mentioned a few times, as is Harry Potter. Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco (Pause): Social drinking, except for one instance where Andy gets drunk.

I loved the movie but....
....I feel the Anne Hathoway character was a confusing role model for young girls. Here's this nice, intelligent girl-next-door character who's living with her boyfriend and who then sleeps with some writer guy on their first date. As an adult, it didn't phase me but I could see a young girl becoming desensitized toward immoral behavior and I don't think that's healthy. I think young girls need to see moral behavior portrayed in movies because they're forming their sense of 'normal' and I personally don't want that 'normal' to be living with boyfriends or sleeping around.

A Funny Movie That You Should See
Thus was actually pretty good movie for older teens and adults. I didn't see a lot of things that could offend parents of Senior High kids. Overall it was superb for what I thought would be a chick flick.

Pleasantly surprised, but also predictable

Better Than Most. . .
Overall, I can't complain too much. The language wasn't that bad, and aside from that one scence with the writer, there wasn't a lot of sex mentioned, like in most movies. You do lose some respect for Andy when she "cheats" on her boyfriend. It was pretty good. I wouldn't take kids under thirteen to see it, but only because they probably wouldn't get the storyline.

A heartwarming story with lots of comedy and modern-day references.
This was a great movie. It was very entertaining and gave me a great message, to always stick to being "you" and not to get caught up in "the other half." It deliberatly builds up to this message, starting with a caring boyfriend and a not-so-up-to-fashion girl. When she gets this job, she doesn't know what she's getting into, but immediatly feels the pressure to become one of the skinny, uptight beautiful women. But by the end, after relizing her mistake by a certain main character, walks away and agrees to spend her life happy, rather than a "fashionista." This movie has a great message, and I think it's the perrrrfect summer comedy for teens (not young kids) because it has a hidden message in it.

Very commercialized...pretty good.
This movie was great, especially with Anne Hathaway. There is some cussing, but it's not that bad; there is also minimal drinking, but that should not be a big issue either. Overall, a girl into shopping will like this movie like I did!

- My highlights are:
THE chick flick
Streep's acting is superb, and the overall message is to fit in with you can, but never totally conform to what everybody else is doing. This movie though, is 100% chick-flick, not for guys who feel manly about themselves.

Streep fans must watch:)
Meryl Streep nailed this role as Miranda. Is there anything she can't do?Andy is seen drinking but not in a trashy way, she sleeps with a guy on a first date, nothing is shown. No nudity, though it is implied. Designers are advertised as well. Amazing movie overall, and a must-see for all the Streep fans out there:)

Very good, on and off.
This movie was verryyyy good, but it was one of those where the Main story is cute, but her social life stinks and is boring. The whole time I was watching it I am like....Get back to the part at Miranda Priestly's. Those parts were good and Meryl Streep Is dynamite!

Great for 12 and up!
This is such a wonderful movie and really makes you laugh! It's a great film aside from the begining with the women getting dressed and the foul language.

Not exactly good.
I thought this movie was good if you are looking to watch a movie with younger kids. However, I would not watch this movie again.

Good film for girl girls and women from about age 10
There is nothing particularly wrong with this film - apart from seeing women get dressed right at the beginning, but if you fast forward that then the film is suitable for any age, but I would say that they have to understand that the `cheese` diet isn't a good idea if they want to go skinny!

Amazing movie!
Veery good movie. Shows how harsh and brutal the fashion industry can be, and is a VERYYY entertaining movie. I think any child 10+ can watch it, as long as the parents are OK with it.

Watched it three times and would watch it again!
I watched this three times on an airplane and would watch it again if I could. Meryl Streep is sweetly wicked and you hate and love her at the same time. AMAZING performance there. Parents need to realize that in the end, Anne Hathaway knows that acting like all of the people at the fashion place was wrong and hurtful to those around her. SO it teaches a good lesson!

good movie, iffy for people under 8....

I loved it!
My sister(8) and I wanted to watch this movie and were excited when our mom said yes. It really wasnt that bad at all...there was a little sexuality but nothing horrible. I dont think anyone under 7 should watch this because there are some alchohal references. It wasnt bad at all really just about a girl trying to get through her job. Anyone over 8 should be able to watch this

Great Movie for teens
I loved this movie and thought it should be watched in every household with teen girls. I do recommend that people know their kids before they let them watch this movie because it has some parts that younger children should not be seeing. I recommed this movie to to teen girls that are 11 and up. Overall this movie teaches girl a lot and is a great movie.

I loved This MOVIE tHE best
If you like the world of fasion, Ane Hathaway, and Meryle Streep, then you will love this movie. Its a little iffy when she cheats on her BF but over all. She drops a few s-words and a couple-dwords and h-words. But over great(Especially for aspiring fasion desginers. You get to see the inside world of fashion). Great movie!!!!

Good
I think that this is a good movie. It's not amazing have to see it again and again movie but it was good. I liked it. There was some sexual stuff in it but overall it was fun. I suggest it for 12+. A 10 or 11 year old would be pushing it but if they were mature enough...
