  1. I rate this title on for age 11 and give it 5.0
    My concerns are:
    • Excessive violence

    11 is iffy

For the parents who don't like evil violence, it's a no...no... there are a lot of images resembling satan which frightens me. But I think that is what makes it scarier. BEWARE: Of "jumpy" scenes. WARNING: It could cause nightmares!!

demonic and dark but pretty good. the twist ending was amazing and i was sucked into the movie from the beginning. if i had kids this would definitely be on the no list. not appropriate for kids under 16 too violent and sad.

    Just plain jumpy!

This movie isn't particularly scary, it just has loads of jumpy parts. The thing that makes it potent is because Sam is such a good director he can hold it off and make it really suspenseful. You know something is going to happen -- you know you're going to jump, but you don't know when! That makes it one of those movies where you have to know your kid. If they are easily scared, do NOT let them go! The movie was great, I thought it was hilarious as well as scary. My friends loved it too. Only reason I marked role models as bad is because Christine tries to give the curse to someone else rather than accepting responsibility for her mistakes.

To Laugh or NOT to Laugh? COVER YOUR EARS!!!!!

I would've liked it alot better if I knew it was supposed to be funny. The previews ruined my experience. I was the only one laughing in the theater of 20 people and wasn't sure if it was appropriate or not. Also, cranking up the volume all the way everytime something scary happened only made me wait to cover my ears. Not always neccessary. I felt I wasted 20 bucks

    A fun flick!

This movie was pretty good, but not great. It had its funny moments, but definitely was not scary. I would think anyone under 13 would be terrified, as some scenes go over board. I don't think anyone under 13 should see any kind of horror movie unless it's pathetically tame. This one is just a fun watch, and Alison is a terrific actress! Good watch if you like creepy/comedy type of horrors. 3.5 stars out of 5!

    JUST OK.........

i was surprised how tame this was dispite the reviews. There are some good scares and overall it was fun to watch. The "twists" are fairly predictable and I think most kids in high school are ok to see this. Overall...I give it almost good....not great.

Good Startles but definitely not for tweens

Funny how gore or scare isnt an option to push for 'what concerned you'. But I know my 13 year old isnt ready for a movie like this. He thinks he's ready for scary movies but its the 'jump out' scenes he doesnt handle well. (and quite frankly there were a few gross moments where my gag reflex was pulled) lol. My husband and I really liked it though. I hate reading anything that will give parts away so all I can say is if you enjoy movies like 'House', Evil Dead', etc. You'll really like this.

This was a surprisingly good movie. It was also low on gore, which makes this appropriate for most older kids.

    Drag me to this movie

Now THIS is horror done right. Sam Raimi still has the edge he had in films he directed before Spider-Man. This awesome film opens with a retro Universal logo. Then, a young boy who stole jewelry from a gypsy has weird visions and sounds that weren't there. He was then dragged to Hell by an unknown force. Fast forward 40 years. A loan officer named Christine refuses a request from a gypsy to extend her loan, so the gypsy puts a curse on her. Christine will be dragged to Hell in 3 days. After that scene, this film's pure camp. When I wasn't scared, I was laughing, both in anticipation of the next jump scene and at the hilarious one-liners and cheesy gore. In terms of content, there's only violence, horror, and some mild language. Yes, Drag Me To Hell is scary, but in a good, fun sort of way, just like the Evil Dead movies. If you or your kid is afraid of jump scenes, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO SEE THIS, because there are plenty. There's also a lot of gore for a PG-13 rated movie, but it looks fake and is played for comically cheesy effect, like when Christine has a massive nosebleed, covering her boss in blood from head to toe, and he asks "Did I get any in my mouth?" It's that kind of comic horror that appears in Drag Me To Hell. But there are some scenes that are devoid of such comedy. However, even then, the effect comes off as cheesy. Language is pretty mild for a PG-13, and so is sexual content. In short, see Drag Me To Hell if you want a good, fun scare. It's the perfect film for Halloween. And if you want more horror, check out the unrated version (when it comes out on DVD).

    GREAT MOVIE!

This movie is so hilarious! I mean, yeah, it's a bit creepy. but in the long run, it's SO far fetched and random, no one could be scared by this movie!

    My concerns are:
    • Excessive violence
    • Negative role models

I thought this movie was so funny. It wasn't just me either. The entire theater was cracking up by the crazy depictions on real-life events. I loved when she was about to kill the cat...

    My concerns are:
    • Excessive consumerism

Pretty awesome movie. It's a lot like Sam Raimi's slapstick Evil Dead Trilogy. The plot revolves around a young woman who is cursed by a gypsy. She is haunted by a demon for the first three days, and on the third, it is going to take here to Hell for eternity. It's pretty scary and quite funny.

i really want to see this movie, and so does my BFF but i read about it and it sounded super gross! And i like horror movies, not gross ones, blood, violence, and whatever else is ok w/ me, but really discusting looking monsters and stuff make me want to gag! And i read that someone throws up a dead cat! Eww! Should i see this or not, i'm still not sure, i guess my girlfriends and i will have to rent this to find out! Wish me luck. Ha ha lol

    SAM RAIMI IS BACK

the evil dead trilogy was amazing. the first two spidermans were great. a simple plan was also great. and darkman was the best comic book movie i have ever seen. NOW he comes back with a pg-13 horror movie that isnt a remake. he still has his touch to his horror movies.

Not bad at all just a good overall movie!

I liked it a lot. There was a lot of pop out scary things but nothing to serious. There shouldn't be a problem with 12 and older watching this movie. They may be a little frightened tho.

    Drag Me to Hell.

Drag Me to hell is a great time at the movies it delivers scares and humor and sometimes mixed. It's nice to Sam Raimi return to his roots where he first started before Spider-Man such as The Evil Dead Trilogy. This may scare some younger viewers but other than that worth your money.

This movie is fine for those 12 and up

Jump scares abound here and most people can handle that. Sure 8-10 year old probably couldn't handle it but if your kid says he or she is ready, let them. It won't kill you to let them see a horror movie. It's not like they are going to go out and try and do the things in the movie. And as for language, they probably heard most cuss words from people at school or their parents.
