Dreamgirls is an amazing, extremely entertaining musical, and one of the year's best films that I've seen. Jennifer Hudson is incredible, she deserves an Oscar for her role. Surprisingly, Beyonce Knowles is also phenomenal, I think she deserves an Oscar nomination.
Okay, so I thought the reviews had over-hyped it, and I was prepared to be disappointed. I was NOT! People (including me) really did clap and cheer during the movie and at the end, and I haven't cried in a movie like that since The Joy Luck Club. It's incredible! Take your teens to see it!! And dig the soundtrack!
I loved this movie. This movie was so good and started and ended with excitment. The story line was great and kept me interested throughout the movie. All of the actors were great, but Jennifer Hudson stole the show. I love the music. My favorites were Eddie Murphy-I love you Baby, Beyonce-Listen, and Jennifer Hudson-I Love you I do and I am telling you.
When I heard One Night Only(disco version) It made me want to get up and dance! But when Eddie Murphy's character died it was pretty sad, but It did make sence his caracter died from drug overdose!
All you need to see is the oscar nominations to see that this is a good movie. All the actors are amazing singers. Kids will like this because the music is a lot of fun. However, towards the middle, it gets into the cliched "everyone's mad but lets hug and make up" part, but is quickly redeemed by Jennifer Hudson's powerful "I am Telling You I'm Not Going." It is fun and okay for 12+, just because of some language and drug use. However, there are musicals out there that are better by far, like "Chicago" and "Rent" for the older kids, or "Little Shop of Horrors" and "The Music Man" for younger ones.
This movie was tastefully done. I completely enjoyed from beginning to end. The singing was incredible. I felt that every aspect of this movie was well done on.
This was a amazing movie it had so many emotions, it made me laugh and cry. It was filled with so many talented people like Beyonce and Eddie Murphy. It was not the best musical but a very good film.
