Great movie for adults, not a good movie for kids!!!
Not for kids 17 or younger. A very good adult movie. Mel Gibson does a great job and I was interested all the way till the very end. Strong language, violent, and has both postive and negative messages.
This is a very violent, very dark, yet well-made thriller. My only problem with it as it didn't seem epic enough for Mel Gibson's comeback. Parents: This is a very violent and dark movie with shocking, sudden acts of very bloody violence. This is no happy tale. There's also language. Bottom Line: In the end, you don't really feel satisfied, or that happy, but you may be able to think back and appreciate some really well shot scenes. Thanks for reading! - Movie Man
I guess it depends on what message you mean when you rate this positive or negative. A law enforcement officer going vigilante to avenge the death of his daughter... not a good message. Standing up for what you believe in, no matter what, even if it seems hopeless that you will win... good message. I was pleased with the ending, but won't give it away. Yes, it was quite violent. But it was good in a "Silkwood" sort of way. If your teen is interested in activism, watch it with them.
edge of darkness is a thriller movie only for adults and parents you need to know that this movie is so disturbing and too much for your kids the violence is so intense that they even show mel gibson daughter emma being shot with a shotgun at close range they even show dead bodies floating in the water in the beginning of the movie and also show disturbing photographs of still more dead bodies and a girl run over by a car with strong force that she is sent flying across the street characters use constant strong language throughout the movie some characters drink wine and a six-pack of beer.
I enjoyed the movie, It was very suspenseful but there were some concerns, the language is adult potty language and the message isn't really positive because they show her die in the opening scene. Her father is a good role model becaue it shows you that, a father will do anything for his daughter, but it also shows you physical violence is okay when in truth it's not. This movie should only be viewed by 17 and up. Anyone under shouldn't really be watching it, but overall its an okay/good movie.
