I watched it yesterday and it is my favourite film. I am only thirteen so that is why I am rating it as I have. Ten years ago I don't think I would have been abled to watch it and nobody would have rated it for people under 17 years of age but nowadays younger kids are being exposed to the kind of language used in this movie. I had already heard about the woodchipper part and leading up to it I was really scared but when I saw it I laughed so hard! It is one of the funniest movies that I have seen in a long time, even though it probably isn't supposed to be because it is a true story, and the only thing I would say to look out for is the sex scenes. There are two strong ones. Nevertheless, excelent film! I love Steve Buscemi!
well its a great movie but the coens have done a lot better. however, apart from the woodchipper bit and steve buscemis face for a bit (bleeding) its really not that extreme. there are a few f words but have you been into a school lately?
I thought this movie was pretty good but I felt maybe if it moved at a faster pace it would be more thrilling and exciting - but thats probably just me :)
Fargo is kind of brilliant in a certain way, but then again it's one of those weird Coen Brothers movies, with a very odd tone I just couldn't seem to get into. Some people might find this movie hard to understand, with it's strange blend of dark comedy, sex, and violence, but it's thought provoking and worth seeing for people with open minds. However, this isn't an entertaining, fun thriller, as advertised. For one of those, try Wes Craven's Red Eye, which is also less heavy. Fargo is an eerie and subtle mystery.
Parents:
This movie contains violence which, although is meant as comic in some scenes, is also dark and twisted. Corpses are shown several times throughout the film.
Strong language, although is not excessively used. More than one use of the "F" word.
There are two sex scenes in this film, including nudity. In one, we see two pairs of people having sex in separate beds in a hotel room. In another, we see a more up close shot of a man and a female prostitute having sex, fully nude.
This movie does have good role models though, including a friendly, pregnant female cop who is investigating a double homicide. She is played by Frances McDormand, who won the Best Actress Oscar for this performance in 1996.
This is a great movie, but you really have to pay attention to the beginning to get the story line. There is a lot of swearing but no more than any other R-rated movie. Violence is a big issue. Many people get shot including innocent passers-by.
This is one of my favourite films of all time
The violence is pretty graphic and it leaves a bigger impact with you with all of the "Minnesota Nice" included in the film. But nevertheless this is a film everyone has to see in their lifetime
Fargo - A quirky messed up crime that defines cinema
Let me tell you right now this is not for kids. The role models are horrible. The only good person is a cop played by Francis McDormand. The plot is fantastic and the acting is phenomenal. Violence is frequent with shootings and decapitations. Language is severe with tons of f bombs even kids saying them. Sex is not too bad but is somewhat shown. The main reason this is not for kids is the behavior, violence, and language. However, this was the BEST movie of 1996 and one of the best movies ever made.
the best movie i have ever seen evrything about it was just perfect the charecters, and setting Frances Mcdormand could not have been better. the only problem with this movie is language i think it is the Coens Brothes best.
