Only the greatest documentary of all time.
Seriously. Though it's obviously not for children, this type of film is what gives me some faith back into the human race. Fascinating and fantastic, I recommend it for everyone who wants to see something that'll make them laugh until they cry and think until their heads hurt. And, of course, having some of the century's most fantastic directors in it doesn't hurt a bit.

Very good!
Okay, this film was very funny. But how the hell did it get NC-17? I understand about the language and sexual content, but NC-17 is rare. I say R content, but almost NC-17 content.

I agree!!!
I agree with the other reviewer . . . I work in the television industry, and I can assure you EVERYTHING in this movie is true. If parents think the ratings system works for them, go screen Hostel, The Hills Have Eyes, or even The Exorcist from nearly 35 years ago, and ask yourself HOW these films passed with an "R".

A must-see for all adults
If you've ever been curious why a movie is rated for a certain age group, this documentary will be very illuminating! If you think the MPAA operates with you, your kids, or the voice of filmmakers in mind, you will find yourself sorely mistaken. The documentary shows the influence large movie makers have over the rating process, and the problems with the MPAAs completely secret rating procedures.

A film worth the money
I absolutly loved this film. This is the stuff i live for. This film showes us just how powerful the movie rating system (MPAA) truly is. It showes us how we need to make our own desition and not let a system that is influensed by major studios, and has full backing of National Association of Theater owners controle what we can see. This fim is not for kids or pre teens but above that, they can handal it. It also is a good way to educate your parents (my parents had no idea who the MPAA were, they thought it was goverment ran). There are many sex seens but they are used to rub it in to the MPAA. The language is also strong but most people 15 and up have heard and seen much worse at school and on the internet. It all dependes on the person but the films purpose is well served. the fact that the system so many people in america put there trust in, actualy keeps its people secret and manages to still tell parents what to do amazes me. This is why i love this site. you get 3 opinions. Great movie you should see it (15+)

Sheads light on MPAA raiting
This sheds an important light on what the MPAA film system is like. But I don't know I agree with some of its conclusions. The system is better then flat out censor but an NC-17 rating is the kiss of death for any movie. No major chain will distribute it or show it. But I don't think central, right-wing America should limit what we can see or require a parent or bar kids from theaters. It should be a suggestion only without enforcement. This film contains (and points out) many NC-17 elements, so beware. But some can take that and some can't.

The word is NOT "queer".
I understand you wanting to protect kids and everything, but the way that you used the word "queer" within the review. The word is homosexual, not queer. I'm sure it was a simple mistake. This is deffinetly a mature movie, and it might have some good ideas, but it's something some kids are way too exposed to.
