Good role model, but intense disturbances and violence.
I personally love this movie but it has a part where a man shoots his entire family then himself, an abduction scene where it shows the person getting abducted, during it the camera breaks and blurs up. Though it is violent and unatural the actual footage is mostly blured up or covered with boxes. I have to say this is definetly a very chilling and disturbing movie. But the role model in this movie is Dr. Abagail Tyler who does what she can to save her kids befoe herself and she tries to help people to get through the strange occurances. In the end she is in the hospital and ashley, her daughter, has never been found.

This movie is so good! I love how they put in actual footage! And you have to love Milla Jovovich.

Not the best 'alien' movie ever
I did not like this movie at all. Obviously, its just a facetious take on aliens to make money from teens who don't know any better. If you actually Google Dr. Abigail Tyler, many would find that she isn't a real psychologist. As for the footage, the scenery is unrealistic. I've been to Nome, Alaska while visiting a close family friend and there are no trees or forests, but perhaps a little shrub here or there. The movie, however, is mostly taking place in a forest. However, for young children, I suggest not letting them watch this movie. There were several 'jumpy' scenes that even I screamed at (and I'm not the kind of person that usually does that) and it could also cause nightmares, what with the owls looking at you and waking up at a certain time every night.

This was an alright movie. It was jumpy in some parts. There is one part were Dr. Abigal Tyler is in bed with her husband and the husband gets stabbed (when there in bed). And there were some creepy close ups of owls and people in my theatre were startaled. 9+

I Hate this film. It wasn`t any scary at all, a bad step on Milla Jovovich career.

what i thought about the fourth kind.
I really liked this movie. I recommend this movie for people who really like to get scared and maybe even disturbed. Some of the scenes in the movie are very shocking and really disturbing. But I enjoyed it because I like being scared.

Good for tweens and great for the older.
I liked it. It wasn't my favorite movie, but it was good. The movie was well directed, and some parts were scary, but not too scary. Over all, it was a good movie.

Teenagers and up may scare kiddies
I dont know about critics but I really enjoyed this, it was very believable and frightening and good if you want to watch a scary movie, one flaw is that the acting is kind of bad but you can get over that pretty fast.

Its gonna bore you to death
the kids will probably leave the room before it starts getting "scary"- IM 12, if i can watch this alone in my room with all the lights off, anyone can. its kinda sad in some parts too, but, its fine overall. horror fans- dont bother...

Teenagers might like it
I totally loved it. I am sure all adults will. It is way to scary for any of my children but I know it will interest the older teenagers.

This movie is absolutely terrifying. It's much better than Paranormal Activity. It's a very interesting film and the best part is, it terrifies while keeping content to a minimum, with only the tiniest hint of gore. People need to keep an open mind about aliens, in my opinion, it's a certainty. I believe that it's naive to think that with a few planets and planetoids orbiting many stars, billions of stars in this galaxy, hundreds of galaxies in this universe, and possibly hundreds of universes in this multiverse that saying that only one of them can possibly contain intelligent life. Maxmum, who says that these events were fabricated needs to keep an open mind.

Kind of disturbing
This movie presents a disturbing plot, as well as the troubling concept of media portrayal of something as 'real' which is in fact fabricated. Older teens might be entertained by deciding for themselves what they believe, but youth will be confused and upset by it.

Well, not to much to say... definetely NOT for children who can't handle scares.
This wasn't a very good movie at all, to tell tell you the truth. It basically revolves around alien abductions taking place in a small town in Alaska. Very frightening(not to me, but to others it may be), not a movie I would reccomend taking your kids to if they scare easily. Overall, an average movie, perhaps. It's suppose to be based on a true story, although I can't seem to find any hard evidence of that as of yet.

It was really scary from the roaring of the possed poeple to the aliens. Not good for young children
