Great Movie
This is a great movie. It has a very good story and Russell Crowe is perfect as Maximus. However, it is extremely violent and I would only recommend it to someone who is mature and about 16 or older.

Great for adults or mature teens
I love this movie but it is not for children! My very mature 15 yr. old was able to appreciate it. Russell Crowe is a great actor (you forget he's acting) and the consummate hero which is so rare today. This movie reminds me that there are things in life worth fighting for!

A really great movie.
I love this movie. My 7 year old, his dad and I watch it all the time. I love it!! It is violent but hey, my son loves it, hes a boy and loves fighting and wrestling, but what little boy doesnt?

i am a 10 year old not an adult and i have seen this 2 times it is a great movie the violence is strong but the story is great there is one gross scene involving maggots

"Gladiator" a gruesome but fascinating tale
This film features amazing acting, directing, writing, filming and in incredible amount of blood. I saw it in theaters when I was 16 and I was plenty old enough. The story is sad but victorious and, except for the gross historical inaccuracies, it's well put together. Have fun, and make sure the surround sound is turned up before you start it.

Really good, but incredibly gory and violent movie.
I loved this movie, but I would recommend the edited version (*flicksclub*). The unedited version was too gory for me, but other than that, it was great. The special effects were great, the story was really excellent, and I loved the characters. It was really believable. I recommend it.

Gladiator is a bit overrated in my opinion, but I still really liked it. The ending was sad but brilliant, and there are some exciting action scenes throughout.
As far as content goes, this movie is very violent and bloody. There's really not much else to object to though!
Good for kids a mature 13+

The best movie EVER
this is my absolute favorite movie. everuone in the world should see it!! i was amazed by how little swearing and there was and despite what others might say there is NO sex. i love violent stuff so this makes this movie perfect!! great alternative for hbo's ROME if ur not aloud to see it (like me)

A must see for anyone 10 and up!!!
Since my last review was very long, i'll get straight to the point. We watched this in history class (i'm in 9th grade). This movie is violent, but not really graphic. All you see of the dead mother and son is a slightly smoky ashen (kinda charred, but all the skin is there). Not bad. My 8 year old sister watched it with no problem at all. THIS IS AN AMAZING MOVIE- WATCH IT!!!

Classic, a movie for the ages
I consider myself a very mature person for my age and am enroled in very high level classes, so when you read my review please take this into consideration. This movie was excellent, however to get the full value of this movie I studied ancient Rome for 2 weeks to really understand everything, also I would like to add that playing a couple of rounds of age of mythology would really help in the mix, thank you for your time and if you desire you can see some of my other movie reviews, until next time goodbye.

Excellent movie. Great message about fighting for what you believe in. Content wise, there are several references to rape and crucifixion (not all that bad), the main issue is the blood. With the movie title in mind, there's limb-hacking, head chopping, and plenty of blood to go around. Ultimately, a great movie for mature teens.

G.O.A.T (greatest of all time)
Gladiator is one of the greatest movies of all time. From the plot to the way it was shot. It is one of the only rated R movies that I would recommend to a middle schooler or high schooler. the only reason it is really rated R is for its violence and gore. There isn't any inappropriate sex scenes or foul language. The movies plot is about a man named Maximus that was a leader of the Roman army and double crossed by the emperor's son who later becomes the Emperor of Rome. The anger and Hate Maximus has for his enemy fuels him through may epic battles in the arena. The character Maximus played by Russell Crowe is played perfectly. His look and the way Russell portrays his hate sells the whole movie for me. The way the movie was shot from the CGI Coliseum to the costumes worn gave the movie a realistic feel. The dramatic angles and editing made the fight scenes second to none in this movies genre. Gladiator is a movie that will be timeless. No doubt in my mind my children and their children will still be watching this movie. The awards this movie won could speak for themselves, but I recommend that you find out for yourself how great this movie is. I rate this movie 10 out of 10.
