Phenomenal Screenplay, Great for Kids 12 and Up
Amazing movie showcasing Will Hunter's journey of self discovery. Full of great messages for teenagers; it acted as a guiding light for me when I watched it. There is a considerable amount of language, smoking/drinking, and innuendos, but it is meant to make the film grittier and more realistic. So when I watched it, I didn't find it excessive -- I believe that most kids older than 11 are able to handle the content. However, every child grow at a different pace and no two parents are the same; it's understandable that some believe that you should wait until you're 18 or whatnot...
But I definitely recommend it to younger teens.

Good Movie but Some Colorful Language!
Although the movie had quite colorful language and besides the 150+ F-bombs, “Good Will Hunting” was a great movie with a great message. Would definitely recommend for older, more mature children due to the swearing and sex talk, but overall a good movie worthy of recommendation.

Favorite Movie
This movie is my favorite movie out there. I watched it when I was around thirteen, and it has been my favorite movie since. reviews complain about the amount of profanity used and sexual jokes, but I think it makes it more realistic. This movie was great, had a great plot and great acting.

very good for older teens
Good Will Hunting happens to be my favorite movie of all time. However, I can definitely see where it would be inappropriate for younger kids.
Sexual Content: Sex is a relatively prominent theme throughout. There are no actual sex scenes, the closest gotten to one was when Will and Skylar were talking and Will kisses down her body and lays on her chest (which ends in them making out). Sexual comments are made throughout. In one scene, Skylar makes a pretty graphic blowjob joke. Sexual jokes are also common throughout. In another scene, you can slightly hear moans in the background and the guys yell at their friend to stop “jerking off” in his mom’s room. The entire scene talks about him using a baseball glove for it.
Violence: The violence isn’t especially graphic. At the beginning, Will gets into a fight where he ends up beating a guy up and hits a police officer (which lands him in jail). In another scene, Will and Skylar are fighting; he pushes her against the door and punches the wall near her head. Child abuse is referenced, specifically in Will and Sean’s cases.
Swearing: Pretty much every swear word in the book used. The F word is used in every other sentence (I think around 140/150 times total), as well as other curse words throughout.
Substances: Drinking and bars are seen throughout, as well as beer bottles and other drinks. Will smokes cigarettes throughout the film. Drugs are not used.
Overall really good movie, just be careful!
