Watch Carefully.
In this film, there are scenes of violence, sex, and drinking that is not appropriate for younger viewers. As a film, it is Groundbreaking, Atmospheric, and Extremely Creepy. It is amazing that this film can age so well, Michael is still scary, Laurie is still fearless, and everyone is still having fun (until they are impaled).

great
This movie is the scariest i have ever scene. It is a little inopropiate but it isn't that bad. There is not much blood or gore. No cusing. And Laurie Strode is a great role model for the most part

Don't show this to young kids!
I can't say I didn't like the movie, in fact I thought it was very good for a old horror film. But in it theres nudity, violence, two girls are smoking some sort of drug and hiding it from there father, and profanity. We had to fast forward scenes. However it's good for people who love scary movies but not blood.

Even to this day, this film is still one of the most entertaining horror movies ever made
The original John Carpenter directed 1978 slasher film Classic Halloween is still relevant today, still effective and still a very, very entertaining little movie, and also one that I am very glad that it isn't even close to forgotten, yet, even if the Rob Zombie remake/sequel kind of hurt the originals status just a little bit. We all know how this movie goes, by now: As a 6 year old child, Michael Myers killed his teenage sister, he was brought into a mental hospital, and now, 15 years later, he's back and he is going to raise some hell. Jamie Lee Curtis is still a huge standout in this cast of still mostly unknowns (except for the great Donald Pleasence, or course), who is very believable as the shy high school student who babysits two young children, only for the whole evening to go completely crazy with Michael being back in town. Now, even though this movie is Rated R, it is still much tamer than almost every horror movie out there today: But, with the biggest exception, there is a fair amount of teen sexuality, with one after sex scene showing bare breasts, one topless seen showing the actresses bare back, and one actually fairly graphic sex scene with lot's of thrusting, moaning and bare breasts. But, even with the frequent amount of violence, while it is often brutal, it is almost never bloody or overly graphic. Finally, there is some brief teenage pot smoking and some infrequent mild language that could fit easily into a PG-13 Rated movie if it were made today. Thanks for reading, and I hope that this got you wanting to see this movie, if you haven't done so already.

Amazing movie, perfect for horror movie fans
Halloween is the mother of all slasher films. The suspence will keep you on your toes, and Michael Myers is scary as heck. Of course, it's not for everyone though; there is slight cursing and some female nudity (it's subtle though, not in your face). And being a slasher, there is violence. Although you never really see much, if any blood, so it should be fine for kids over 10, maybe younger if they're pretty mature. Laurie Strode is a good role model, going out of her way to protect the kids (although she does suffer from a few things characters in horror movies usually do, such as turning your back on the killer and not keeping the killer's weapon with you so he can't grab it again. But overall she's a fine role model). Halloween is possibly my favorite movie of all time, and will probably stay that way for a long time. Even if you're not crazy about horror movies, give Halloween a try. You may be surprised.

Wait until your kids are older.
I watched it and it was a great movie. It wasn't really that violent by today's standards. For me it was scary, but not too scary to give me nightmares.

My favorite horror flick of all time!!!!
This movie was amazingly directed with a low budget and turned into one of the most classic films of all time. There is VERY mild blood in this movie and NO gore. There is violence but most of it is left to the viewers imagination. There is toplessness but nothing that a kid over the age of 10 hasn't seen. Suprisingly the swearing is very mild. This movie would get a PG-13 rating today.

Stupidest Movie Ever Made
This is the stupidest movie i have ever seen. If this movie is scary to you, then you shouldn't be watching "horror" movies in the first place. There are the worst actors ever in this movie, especially in the car scene where it is supposed to be scary, but is extremely retarded because she has a stupid look on her face when she is supposed to be dying. it has two unneeded sex scenes and has almost no blood whatsoever, which is suprising for a slasher film. It is supposed to be scary, but I laughed throughout the whole thing. this movie, if not for the nudity could easily be PG-13.

Great Horror Classic
This movie is great! Don't listen to Common Sense! The violence isn't that bad, in fact its so unrealistic that its laughable. And the "character that gets stabbed in the eye with a hanger" is michial myers and he's wearing a mask so you dont see it. The only thing thats not very good is that you see a girls' boobs but its not that bad. overall its a good movie

Overrated
Not bloody or anything. I turned it off after a an hour in a half because I was bored. Maybe it was bad when it came out, but no all it is is a bad role model in a suspenseful movie

This movie wasn't scary at all!
This movie was so crappy! I watched this on Halloween with a bunch of friends and my boyfriend. I hoped it would be scary because I like scary movies, but the only scary thing in the whole darn movie was the music and the girls exposed breasts (shudder). If there weren't any music we all would've fallen asleep. The scenes where people died weren't scary or gory, they were funny as you know what. When Jamie Lee Curtis stabbed him the first time and thought he was dead (but he wasn't, the dude never dies!) I almost screamed at her to stop turning her back to him; and when there was the knife on the table but she grabs the knitting needles instead? I got a huge migraine. I was like, honey this is the third time you've thought he was dead, why don't you really make sure and just like chop his head off or something? Ugh I will probably never watch this movie again. Michael Myers is a great creepy guy though.

1978 Horror Classic.
"Halloween" by John Carpenter is the classic 1978 horror film, although it didn't start the "Slasher" genre, it made it way more popular. The plot is about a killer who murders Laurie Strode's friends, and then attempts to murder Laurie. The violence isn't very intense but it should be noted that there is brief nudity and a scene of sex, although its nothing a 13 year old cant handle.

A classic of the genre, not very graphic, but has some nudity
This movie is just classic. Unfortunately, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dr. Loomis are the only people who you really care for. Michael Myers is an amazingly creepy presence and is a viscous, merciless mute. Great flick for a Friday night teen horror flick.

Only slightly deserving of its given R rating. Either way, a classic horror film.
My rating: PG-13 [borderline with R] for violent and tense sequences including a bloody image, nudity, some language and drug use -- all involving teens.

Great party
The violence isn't too bad. But there are several murders of teenagers. Also, it isn't too bloody but the theme isn't the most appropriate theme ever. The biggest problem is the sex I would say. But still you only see breasts one or at the most, two times.
