this is the best harry potter movie ever and that's saying alot because all the harry potter movies are fantastic, but this movie just goes beyond all the other movies because it has the action, the romance, and the characters are well developed. so overall the grade i give it is an A

Very cool movie. There are other "magic-spell" filled movie in the world...and they seem a little lame on the abracadabra spells, but this film is not one of those movies. This is awesome in so many ways! The story line, and the visual effects are really cool and the acting was well done. But I hope audiences (most particularly girls) won't watch this film only for the reason that the actor who plays Cedric Diggory is also Edward Cullen in Twilight. Harry Potter deserves better credit than that.

doesn't the title say enough?
I rate this title on for age 13 and give itA good movie, perhaps the best movie of the series so far!
I personally think that this is one of the most enjoyable movies of the series. There is some language in this movie, and in one scene a man gets his hand cut off, which reveals alot of blood. That scene was very frightening, but apart from that one scene I think that any twelve year old and most eleven year olds will do fine while watching this movie...

Great movie
The 4th movie is definatly one the more exciting ones. It does bring up love and has violence but nothing someone over the age of 10 can't handle. I think the PG-13 rating is a little too much.

Not as scary as the other Harry Potter movies
After reading all these reviews, I was very afraid to show my kids this movie. I will take reviews read here with a huge dose of salt from now on. My kids are youngish (girls 5 & 7) but huge Harry Potter fans and have seen the previous movies (at home with lots of talking - NOT in a theatre). My "mature" 7-year old has read all the HP books. The movie actually was kind of a let down. I think that the other HP movies are scarier. This one had to cover so much ground that it jumped from one highlight to another without building a cohesive storyline or drawing you in enough to even get scared. It is a movie of cool highlights for people who have read the book. My 5 year old was bored because she couldn't follow the storyline (although I told her to cover her eyes for the scene with Voldemort in the graveyard). My 7 year old really liked it. Neither child was scared. I think that the dementors, basilisk, spiders, three-headed dog, troll and werewolf from the other HP movies were much scarier than any scenes in this movie.

Very different than the others
This Harry Potter didn't take my breath away. The effects were great as usual, but I personally didn't like the storyline. (I haven't read the books btw) Obviously the movie has to follow the books that have been prewritten, but I was disappointed with how the movie started. It doesn't start at the house where Harry grew up and I've come accustomed to some laughter with the antics he has there. It made for a very different feel, darker. I also found the sexual attraction the kids had to be rather offensive for what to me is a movie/book meant for kids! Why couldn't they stay YOUNG kids? LOL Aside from that, it was ok. I'm not sure I'll have this one on my shelf when the dvd's come out. Very dark and not as entertaining as the other movies. I was somewhat disappointed.

LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!
this is a GREAT movie! they were pretty true to the book, and the acting was good as usual. teenage girls giggle hysterically at everything especially the whole yule ball and the scene with Harry in the bathtub. all the new characters were very good. i especially liked Rita Skeeter. not appropriate for younger kids, and definately deserved it's PG-13 rating. there's alot of violence and someone dies, but still a great movie all around.

Action Packed Fantasy Adventure
This is an excellent movie for 11 year olds and older. A bit to dark for my 8 year old who has seen all the other movies. I will make him wait a few years before I let him see this. It has much teen situations that any kid not already going through that will be confused. But overall it is a great movie

Ok for 8 year olds & above.
My son (almost 8) has read all the books and has a solid handle on fantasy and reality. If your younger child has that kind of understanding of this concept of reality vs. fantasy the movie would be great... If not, think twice. Ironically, the "sad" and "sexual tension" scenes had greater impact on my 11 year old daughter (tears and giggles respectively). We all really enjoyed it!

A darker Harry Potter.
This is a little darker than the previous movies. It has a particularlly ghastly sceen where Voldomort comes out of the caldron. I had to look away. I also didn't like that an innocent got killed. I think the story would have been just as exciting and meaningful if they hadn't killed someone. I did like the fact that Harry got rewarded for having "moral fiber". And that Harry would choose friendship over winning. That gets an A+.

Too much potential for nightmares in the smaller set
This was a great movie, really well done and surprisingly true to the book, given how long the book is. But the level of intensity and action is way too much for smaller kids to handle. Harry faces death just too often for, say, a 7 year old to cope - which is why mine isn't seeing it. I like the way Dan Radcliffe is growing into the role (and Harry is growing up).

Great adventure--
I didn't see the point of making Harry Potter grow up (and didn't want him to), it was such a great series for younger kids, but the movie was great. I found myself wondering why it received the PG 13 rating until the last 1/2 hr or so when I was scared and I had my friend's 7 yr old hiding her face sitting on my lap. Voldemort is truly scary and the scenes with him in it are well done but frightening. The 10 yr olds loved it as did I, any younger or with any issues such as dwelling on scary movie scenes and you may want to wait to let them see it.

I LOVED IT!!!
I loved this movie!! It is my favorite movie that they have made. I thought that it was pretty accurate, except a little from the graveyarf was left out, and when Harry was in the Hospital Wing, and Sirius was in it. And that Rita Skeeter is an Animagus. I thought that Daniel Radcliffe acted awesome in the Graveyard scene!!! I liked this movie sooo much, I got it loaded on my PSP. I thought the scene with moaning Myrtle was really funny!!! And the big, intense fight with Harry and Voldemort was AWESOME!!!I would recomend this movie to anyone 11 and up.

Excellent film!
In this movie there is no guns or blood spraying everywhere. There is only wands, dead bodies, and a little blood. The most violent scene in this film is in the grave yard. Someone gets killed, a wrist gets cut off, and blood is drawn. It's scary, but it only lasts a little bit. There are also other violent scenes spread throughout the movie, but I don't consider those an issue. An inappropriate scene in this film is when Harry is taking a bath and there is a ghost girl flirting with him. There is also some kissing after the Yule Ball, but I don't think it's that much of a problem. I love the Harry Potter series and recomend it to all above age 9!

Excellent film!
In this movie, there isn't any guns or blood spraying everywhere. There's just wands and dead bodies. There's one scary scene where Harry is fighting a dragon. That's pretty much the most violent part. Otherwise, there is other mild vioence throughout the movie. The most inappropriate scene is how Harry is taking a bath and a ghost girl is in the water with him. And there is some kissing going on at the ball, but that is not an issue at all. Other than that, it is a wonderful film where there is action at every corner. I love the Harry Potter series and I recomend it to ages 9 and up!

GREAT !!!!!!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES!!!!!!!
Great movie, though it does skip details from the book. Anyone who likes the serise would like this film. At the end it can get scary or dark and there is a big intence fight in the grave yard. in it there is violence such as the avada cadavra curse (the killing curse)and tons of spells. becides that it is a great movie.

This is a great movie to watch whenever you feel like curling up in pajamas with popcorn. Some overly picky Harry Potter fans would say this movie left out some parts from the book, but don't let that stop you from watching this movie. It is great.

Beautifully crafted, powerful, and amazing Harry Potter film; not too intense for kids yet fun for all ages!
The movie is amazing, one of the best Harry Potter films. The PG-13 isn't exactly fitting; it could belong to a heavy PG rating. I would say it's fine for kids 10+, or even younger, because the violence is very, very minimum. Amazing movie!

SCORE ANOTHER ONE FOR HARRY POTTER
Had it's violent parts, some blood, you see characters with cuts on them and people kiss. Little kids might find voldamort distrbing, because he's not human, the gravyard scene might scare small children. Some language, mostly Harry's friend Ron saying bloody hell. I LOVED this movie! I love Harry Potter! 5th one comes out soon, can't wait!

I cried- A LOT
This was a movie filled with scary violence and sad moments. NOT FOR YOUNGER KIDS. Don't be surprised if you flinch. There is a deather of a teen, and it shows you the body of him, which is kind of freeky. I think it should be 14+

The Best!
Although this movie is one of the best in the HP series, CAUTION: Sex - Hagrid puts his hand on another womans backside while dancing, we see the rear view of girls from waist down swinging their hips provocatively, Moaning Myrtle encroaches on Harry while he's bathing, and she tries to see into the water, as well as coming in and rubbing his arm and laying her head on his shoulder (a very intense, almost sensual situation). Violence: It's Harry Potter. There's going to be violence and blood. Language: Eight swear words: h-ll, oh my G-d, d-mn. Often paired with 'bloody'. I recommend an edited version such as ClearPlay DVD player. (clearplay.com)
