why does this site even exist? movies are movies y must we pick them apart constantly analyzing every single thing we see? Is there even a point like the banning of Donald Duck for not wearing pants when it didn't even occur to half of us. no scary scenes

Good series with positive messages
Older kids and tweens have probably read the books, so the violence that occurs shouldn't be a shock to them. (The later HP stories are scarier than the first 3 books.) Romance is innocent. Great messages about overcoming evil, the value of friendship, etc.

Dissapointing, but o.k. for 11+
Very dissapointing to Harry Poter fans. A good movie, but could have been better. Some violent scenes but a good movie for fans and kids ages 11 and up.

this is a great HP film, but there are a couple of scenes which might be very disturbing for some. one involving katie bell and the other in a cave with strange creatures. surprised this got PG.

Great!
As an adult that enjoys HP, I loved the movie. However, I probably will not let my 8 year old see it in the theater. We will wait until the DVD comes out and I can sit and watch it with him and discuss things as they come up.

Not like book, crucial information missing, senseless scenes added!
*Spoiler Alert* Wow. The Half-Blood Prince movie was a disappointment to me, compared to the book. Obviously, not all story lines can be included in movies, but it didn’t seem like the director David Yates (even though I know he did one before) had read the books, or seen the previous movies! Why change it to Luna finding Harry on the train, instead of Tonks? No purpose. And why on earth would you do it making the wrakspurt (?) of Luna’s imagination real?? Also, leaving out conversations Harry had with Dumbledore about the possible identity of most of the horcruxes seems a crucial error for the set-up of the next story! Adding things to the story like burning the Burrow is horrendous. It would better serve the story by including more of the things that actually happened! Also, yes, Hermione, in the book, is frustrated to tears with Ron’s obtuseness, but she’s not the simpering idiot she had to portray in the movie. I waited through the movie for at least the climactic ending but they didn’t show the battle!! Unbelievable! Maybe people who haven’t read the book will think it fine, & others may want to see it for the sake of it. I fervently hope a different crowd make the movies for the last book. Thank you.

The Harry Potter series continues...
HP and the Half-Blood Prince had a good storyline and a good balance of action and humor. The cinematography was gorgeous. There were some scary/tense scenes, and the death of a main character, but overall, if you and your kids like the HP movies, this one won't disappoint.

Not as scary as the last two...
This is a great movie for 12 or 13 and adults, as it gets into the relationship angst period. It's not as scary, but certainly sad in some ways. We were also surprised about the alcohol consumption--pretty irresponsible, I think. And I'm pretty sure Butterbeer is non-alcoholic. They drink it all the years they are at Hogwarts.

good as a movie in and of itself. disappointed when looking at it compared to the book. a lot cut out, and actually more disappointing, a lot altered.

Loved it, but not for my young kids.
I loved the movie, but always wish there was more from the book. They could make several movies out of the last two books alone. There is a lot of teen relationships in this movie. I'd make sure you're ready to talk to your kids about appropriate behavior for boyfriends and girlfriends before taking them to this show. The violence is there, but how else can you fight evil, but with a great flick of the wand causing them harm and allowing you to survive?

One of the best movies in the series!
When I saw this movie, I really enjoyed it. I think it's one of the best movies of the Harry Potter series. This movie has some violent scenes. One character dies. It has some mildly romantic moments, but over all, it's the best. Lots of adventure for Harry Potter fans.

This is great for everyone that has grown up with Harry and his friends but not for the younger kids. Too much violence for the younger kids.

Perfect for teenagers, but not for tweens
I thought it was an amazing movie! It was on the violent side, and the inferi (dead skeletal bodies) were scary...I screamed when they appeared (only b/c I was working myself up over them, though. I knew they were coming, I just didn't expect it at that moment). The sexuality of the movie is more in the 8th grade, high school range. It's something that younger kids don't need to be exposed to. They don't need relationships at 12 and under.

This movie was jumpy and disjointed. All of the previous HP movies could stand on their own if you hadn't read the books, but not this one. It is hard to follow and doesn't seem to have much of a plot. As usual, the effects are amazing and wonderful to watch.

A good role model movie and great family movie night out
I made sure that when I took my kids, that they knew about the lake scene. Before the scene, I told them they could close their eyes. I think if you tell them of a scary scene and that it's made up, it'll go over better and they'll surely enjoy the movie.

ROMANCE VS VILONCE
if your more of a fan of romance films then this is the film for you! Cuz harry potter 6 has plenty of kissing and crying and talking about romance. But if you are a fan of vilonce and u are looking forward to seeing this movie i'm afraid u are going to be dissapointed. There is only a pinch of vilonce in this toward the end but the rest is romance.

5 star movie!
i think it is a extremly good movie, but it isnt for all kids. one part was bloody, and there is fantasy violence in a few parts. these skeleton creatures may make kids wet their pants, and a man gets killed wich isnt a positive message

I thought this movie was really good. probobably the second best one:) Me and my little sister(10) love this movie. I t made me cry when ****SPOILER**** dumbledore died. It is violent in some parts but not as bad as the PG-13 ones. There is some kissing(mild) except one part where ron and another girl kiss. and some holding hands. It was funny:) with new characters.

Movie may dissapoint fans
There's no battle at Hogwarts. The inferi (dead people reanimated by a dark wizard) look like withered up things, while in the book it clearly states that a wizard come pretend to me them. *Spoiler* Dumbledore dies. Snape kills him. *End spoiler* This will definitely freak out young children.

A very, very, VERY good movie it's definitely a one to see.
Harry Potter and the Half -Blood Prince is a very good book and movie. It has good role models(Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny.) It's very much like the book but the only thing that's sort of creepy is when the Inferi come out of the water and grab Harry and bring him under the water to turn HIM into an Inferi. It's not at all scary when Albus Dumledore dies. He just falls out of the window after someone does the Avada Kedavra curse on him. The saddest part of the movie is when they have a funeral for Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Not enough things that made the book good.
Pcha, the director is a quack. He did a very good job of screwing up the book. Despite what people say about this movie, "Oh so great, blah blah," it was god awful boring. There was too much romance, not enough of the book which made this series popular. People rate this 4 or 5 stars just because they are die hard fans of the book. I mean, if you haven't read the book, like my younger sister and my parents, you WILL be lost. The director counted on anyone who saw this movie to have already read the book 1000 times. Which is bad. I liked the books quite a lot (disappointed with the last one) and I LOVED the first 2 movies! But Harry is becoming an emo. This makes me sick. Daniel Radcliff did a better job of playing Harry Potter when he was 12 on the first movie than on this one! The horrible these kinds of movies is they are being based on 600 page books and have to be cut down for the movies. This doesn't mean ADD unnecessary things and take out the most important things of the PLOT! What happened to Voldimort's memory of stealing the cup and locket--or Voldimort's mother's past! Instead we get 5 minuets of Hermione breaking down in tears like some sad "can't hold onto a boyfriend" mood. What will she do next! Just off a cliff like in New Moon!?

Great for people who have read it first..
As usual, the brillant movie makers don't dissapiont you here. Though it's not a complete copy of the novel itself it's a wonderful movie to go see with a bunch of friends. They do a good job of keeping it light and laugh out-loud funny even in the dark parts. I would give it 5 stars for all who have read the series! (Don't go if you haven't read it because then you'll be lost)

Wounded the book
The book was amazing, and I should've expected that directors would brutally murder the movie. I think this movie is fine for most kids under 12, but there are some things that pop out in the end that may frighten kids under 10. If you're planning to see it, CHANGE YOUR MIND, DUMMY! Peace.

Not that good but potter fan's should check it out.
It is one PG-13 movie were i can say it could have been a PG movie. Only 2 deaths (one is an extra one a mane charictar) but it's quality is lacking. Those who have seen the 5th Harry potter movie will be disapointed but should still check it out. It's good in a prospective but is a bit darker and a main charictars death may make the movie iffy for those younger than 9 1/2 years old. It is compleatly FINE for a 11+ year old.

I love this movie and once again, CSM is WRONG. Anyone over 4 can see this. I would've seen this is I was four and if I was I still would of loved it.
