this movie was good but not the greatest during the middle of the movie but it definetly had the best battle of a harry potter movie at the end were it was dumbledore and voldemort battle eachother
I love the Harry Potter series. I love both the books and the movies. I would recommend this movie to any Harry Potter fan who is over the age of 9 or 10. But again, it all depends on how your kids handle these types of movies. If you are unsure, view the movie first. I know that my cousin, who's 8, LOVES the movie. She had almost no problem watching it, she was a little sad about the death that occurred, but she talked with her mom about it and she was okay after that. Like I said before, It all depends on the maturity level of your child.
The film has some good role models and good messages. Harry and his friend stick together to fight against evil. They have their squabbles, but they are resolved. Throughout the whole series, it shows the friendship that Harry, Ron, Hermione have. Harry is very loyal to his family and friends. He would do anything for them and does what he has to do to make sure they are safe. His friend, for the most part, stand by him and support him. What a wonderful lesson for your children to learn!
As a self-confessed HP nut, I really liked this movie. I think it is the best one so far. Daniel Radcliffe has come a long way, as have Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. Imelda Staunton was perfect as Umbridge. Alan Rickman IS SNAPE, period.
Even though my son, who will be 9 in November, loves HP I will not be taking him to see this movie. He has seen all of the other ones, and still covers his eyes during certain parts. Some of the parts are just too intense for him. Other parents may judge differently.
The fact that we all take the time to think about it & restrict what our children watch is what matters.
AH
Commen sense i completely agree with you!!! Accept deserves 5 star!
Riveting is the exact word that fits this movie... The anger that potter has is fun to watch a difeerent path in the movie!!! Beautiful film...And for christians like me, it is fine... It will not affect you in any spiritual way... It is not harmful to you!! Christian parnts let you kids watch this brilliatn spectactle!
Although Harry has some true integrity and always winds up doing the right thing, this installment is much darker than past movies. Maybe it has to do with the age that is being depicted here--the teen years, fitting in, finding out who you are, first love, defying authority, etc.
Overall a good movie. Be cautious if your bringing tag along younger kids with older siblings/friends. The younger kids (under 10) may find some scenes very scary.
The movie was the best one yet in the series. I just now am wanting the book to come out even more. Love to see the characters evolve so much over the series, they have all grown as actors and the characters throughout. Definitely taking a dark turn and anyone that has read the books knew this was coming. I think you should know your children, personally no one under 12 at my house will see this one. Great movie though.
Ronald Weasley uses the British cuss word, bloody, in the movie and I think you should look it up in a British dictionary before you let your children watch this movie.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the awesomest Harry Potter movie that exists. If I could rate all of them,I would rate this one with 5 stars.I've watched it like a million times, and I'll still watch it.
The 5th film is way better than others and the things with Lord Voldemort and Umbridge where really changing my sons attitude actually I thought it was the whole film but as a 5th grader he wrote stories about Harry and he did plays so I can tell he loved it.
I've followed the series faithfully, and have been eager to see how they would translate the increasingly lenghty books into two hour movies. The movie covered the basics pretty well, though it would help to add more detail for those who haven't read the books (like my husband). My daughter, who is not quite seven, has seen all the movies previous to this, although after the Chamber of Secrets, they began to scare her. My husband and I went to see The Order of the Phoenix without her, and that was definately the right decision. Though it doesn't offer the gratuitous violence so many PG-13 movies do, it is still too much for younger kids. Take your tweens, but leave the young ones at home.
