It's a decent movie. Might be a little too scary for kids under 10. If you're strict about accuracy to the plot then prepare to be disappointed. There is no battle whatsoever between the kids and the death eaters in the prophecy room and many more changes abound.

Way too scary (spoiler)
The dementors are scary, the scene with the divinity teacher predicting Harry's future terrified my daughter, the animangus was scary expecially when he dragged Ron into the whomping willow! Also scary: warewolf transformation. All in all, this movie was WAY too much for my daughter. However, she loves HP and begs to see this movie again.

I rate this title on for age 11 and give itAn excellent movie!
In my oppinion, this movie is better than the first two, but also more dark, and more scary. I think that ten year olds who scare easily should most certainly not watch this movie, but ones that do not scare easily or anyone 11 and up will do fine watching this.

Best of the Potter Films
This is the best of the films, with the kids' acting improving and the storytelling (i.e., directing) really good. My boys (8 and 11) have seen this any number of times. The werewolf scenes were a bit too intense for my younger son when the movie first came out.

Good But Disappointing
I find that Harry Potter is becoming more and more for teens than kids. I actually thought this movie wasnt that good, I was expecting better. Daniel Radcliffe sucked big time. Ron and Hermione should get more credit for their acting. It's a good family movie. I hope the next one is better than this one. I'm not going to cry though... Or wait I might...

Awesome
From the beginning of the Harry Potter movies, I have made an effort to take my family to each and every one. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by far is the best of the three out so far. I highly recommend this movie for anyone who would like to have an enjoyable evening with their family.

Harry must draw on his most positive memories including the love of his parents (about which he's been told) in order to keep evil at bay. That which is positive in him becomes what makes him most powerful. Both in his battle against the dementors and in the classroom exercise of Harry and his schoolmates turning their most-feared objects into things to laugh about (to release themselves from fear), there is much to think about in this movie. My 8 year old son and I had extended convserations after seeing it about what to do with fear and about the strength that can lie within us and can take us by surprise.

Harry Potter rides again!
Great movie for fans of the Harry Potter series. I would have liked to seen a bit more of the Quidditch storyline presented in the Prisoner of Azkaban book.

The book becomes reality
As a teacher I live to see children picking up books and this is one they all love...the movie brings the characters to life as the first two in the series did. If this autor makes kids read...Halleluiah!

Missing something?!
Not nearly as good as the first two, but still a good movie.
At first we were unsure of taking our 3 1/2 year old to see the movie, but we did and she enjoyed it.
Of course, there are many things to discuss with your child before or after the movie, especially if you take a younger child. There is a vicious dog, dementors (whose name says it all), a werewolf, an animal execution, mild violence, deceitfulness, talk of murder and fear, and in the beginning, Harry runs away from home. All of these scream "know your child". If they scare easily you may want to wait a year. These are also other things to discuss, such as your views on the subjects and your children's ideas about them, what it means to them, etc.
One thing we always remind our daughter is that none of it is real. It is only "people pretending" to do these things...actors, acting it out.
One thing in particular you might talk about with your child is the part where Harry runs away. We all know Harry does not have a parent (or guardian) that he can talk to and work things out with, but we can remind our children that we are here to talk with - anytime, about anything, and remind them of the dangers out there.
Again, this is a good movie, just don't expect it to follow the book as you might like. If your children or friends haven't read the book and you have, you might explain why Harry's patronus takes the form that it does. There are also several other points that the movie leaves out that may make it a bit unsatisfactory.
And don't forget......Have Fun!!!!

- Excessive violence
- My highlights are:
most of this is average harry potter violence. The only part that might be found disturbing is when those dementors suck the happiness out of harry about 2 or 3 times. The language is pretty mild too.

I LOVEd it! but if you get scared easly then I wouldn't see it in theaters. I also think it should be PG-13 because of the violent. I liked the book WAY more than the movie.

IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought that this movie was really accurate to the book. I thought that the shrunken heads were sooo funny!! The graphics were amazing, especially when Lupin turned into a Werewolf. I liked the idea that Harry has another living relative other than the Dursleys. Harry's reaction when he saw that they had traveled back in time was really funny!! My brother saw this movie when he was 8, and wasn't frightened at all!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! I would recomend it to kids 9 and up.

My review
This movie was not how you say the best movie of the harry potter series, there is a quite a lot of violence in this movie like the ghostly nightmarish figures called dementors. A hippogriph is executed and is heard not shown, there is some bloody scrapes on the arms, and face, and Ron's leg is heard being broken, the two werewolves fight, and Sirius Black, (the black wolf) is almost killed by the dementors cause they suck out your soul.

Too pricy video
This video is exciting, but also long. It is a bad influence for kids, makingn them all wanting to be wizards. Also, the cost of this movie is incredibly high. Most movies cost under 20 and at most 30, but this video is considered cheap over 30! Instead of just buying these videos, you can watch them for free! Best of the series - both the book and movie
I love the whole going-back-in-time thing and it's so cool how the scenes look with a couple sets of the same people running around. The best movie out of the lot!

Really Cool
This movie was really neat and is probably my second favorite out of the first four. Just like the other movies it followed the book plot really well. The dementors weren't really that scary. It was just a black robe. They do show a dementors mouth in one scene for like 2 seconds. It wasn't that scary, it looked like a smaller version of the Krakens mouth on POTC but only redder. The werewolf I guess was creepy (I didn't watch that secene) But my brother thought that they could have done a better job so it might not have been too scary. The movie was really great though. You feel really sorry for the "Character" that turns into a werewolf, because "He" is so nice and calm and stuff. All in all is was an awesome movie.
