Cliche Action Flick Doesn't Offer Much

It has cool make-up, art direction and visual effects but is that enough to see the movie? I don't think so

If This Movie Kicked Off the Franchise, I Wouldn't Have Seen Part 2

I was very disappointed by the second installment of this franchise. I loved the first Hellboy, but I absolutely hated this one.

let us all have a laugh at this

A year ago a movie like this was supposed to be good "I mean come on what happened"(qtd. The Dark Knight). The big red guy is a damn girl in this one compared to the first one. The badass from the first movie is completely non existent in this one almost a different character all together. Plus every line that hellboy has is forced and doesn't feel right. The movie itself was made more into a joke after the original which was truly outstanding. I dont like the direction the movie went and where a possible third could go from here, which shouldn't even be a thought right now.

    My concerns are:
    • Excessive consumerism

Great movie, but too much product placement

I thought that it was better than the first. It was Sci-Fi, not the very religious Nazi things. Don't take me wrong, I like the first one too, but it was a lot scarier than this one. I think the only scary scene in this movie is when the tooth fairies try to eat everyone and kill some characters. The end of this movie was really good, though. It makes you wonder what happens next, which I think is a very good way to end a movie. The bad stuff is, there was a lot of products featured in the movie. It's not obvious, but if you re-watch the movie, you are bound to notice it. I think that commonsensemedia is not right. There ARE positive role models. The bad role models are minor characters, but yes, it puts the main character/s under pressure. But the characters love each other, and they are willing up to give anything for one another. That sounds like good role models to me. Also, the director leaves you off thinking that HellBoy is a good father. Overall, great movie.

This Movie is A LOT Better than the First

The first one was scary and really macabre, but this one is more about fantasy and sci-fi than the 'raise the dead, nazi' stuff. There are a lot of scary parts, especially at the beginning, but when you get down to it, it's a violent love story. =) Very cute.

A really good movie i think parent should think about.

This movie is great for someone 13+. I think anyone under this age wouldnt get the material in this movie. And I think someone 10+ could stand the violence.

proliferate violence not appropriate for any age

I think that the producers, actors, and anyone involved in making this movie are irresponsible and thoughtless as to how violence on the screen affects teen-agers and young children.
