What to watch out for * Messages: Mutants are mad; bumbling humans are dumb; only the enraged, vengeful young father triumphs. * Violence: Bloody, grotesque assaults on traveling family by human mutants; infant in danger (carried off by mutants); dogs yelp off screen and their bloody bodies are discovered by horrified humans; mutants eat human and dog corpses; bird's head bitten off; graphic injuries and body parts (including a bloody head and some deformed heads).Repulsive rape of a young mother, plus repeated sexualized violence. * Sex: Sexualized violence. * Language: Frequent profanity, including repeated use of f-words, s-word, "-of-a-bi-ch." * Consumerism: Not an issue. * Drinking, drugs, & smoking: Characters smoke, drink, and show effects of radiation (deformities and cannibalism).

I just saw this movie. Great horror flick!! Warning to parents: This movie is absolutely insanely gory and brutal (mostly in the final half of the movie) Mutated man get foot stabbed by a screwdriver, then gets a mini flagpole through his neck, and then finally, an axe straight into his skull. Also many other scenes of brutal and gory violence. Also contains some language and in the unrated version, a mutant rapes a girl. Also don't watch if you are an animal lover.

Good movie, good message,... I liked it!
The whole rape and muder was diturbing and unneccicary but if you think about the message you'll realize the movie's not half bad! The strong-willed father encounters many hardships and enemies along the way, shortly after a majority of his family dies, including his wife, while looking for his kidnapped daughter... Also, the mutant-girl in the red hoody turns out to be good,... she saves the baby, has to kill her brother and herself to save this man and -what's left of- his family. Good ending.

its actually really scary
i am not going to lie, this movie is really cool. the plot is very suspenseful and exciting. that aside, it is probably one of (if not THE most) the bloodiest/goriest, unhappy and dark movies i have ever seen. a man is burned alive in front of his weeping family. a teenage girl is raped by a disgusting mutant cannibal. there is a lot of times when a little baby's life is at risk. for the whole entire second half of the movie the characters are completely 100% DRENCHED with blood. aside from the shock value from all the blood and rape, the enemy is flat out really scary looking, just a picture of them is able to cause nightmares. the movie tries to get to your fears= claustrophobia (he wakes up in a tiny box with mutilated body parts surrounding him, he tries to break the box open while crying and in a pool of guts. helpless= although you are rooting for the family, it is obvious that they probably are not going to make it out of this one, they are in the middle of the desert, running out of food, getting shot raped and burned, and dont have any phone service. all of you who say that saw is the scariest and bloodiest movie out there, i dare you to watch this.

OK...
I only saw the ending on HBO2 and I thought it was sick. This is not for kids (I know that sounds funny that a 12-year-old is saying that).

I was SO scared!
Well. This movie is very gory and I was even scared. Young girls would be scared because there is a scene of rape and a man burned alive. It's a good movie overall but it may give you nightmares!

I had sooo much fun watching this movie. I watched it with my brother and we laughed through the whole thing. The violence and gore was so over the top that it was obviously fake. It's nice to see that the film makers are trying to scare you and gross you out, but that movie just wasn't as scary as I was hoping. There wasn't enough suspense and we didn't see enough of how the mutants lived. I don't want to say it was pathetic, (b/c it kind of was...) but if they want you to believe that something like this could actually happen, it needs to be more realistic. (Too much blood, too few wounds) All things considered, I thought this was an entertaining movie. There were a few things that would've made it better, but all in all, a good movie.

For mature kids.
I seen this movie when i was ten. Of course, you'd think kids shouldn't see it. But that depends on how mature you kid is. Whether he/she can take this movie without nightmares. I myself found it a bit gory, since their dad is tied to a tree and burned while the two mutants go into the motor home. It is a fun for horror movie lovers, because it's jump-out scary. I loved this movie, since it's graphics are well, and there are great actors. As for the gore...well...it depends if you are ready to handle a movie. I didn't think this movie was as bad as movies like Saw. People overreact like saying "NOT FOR KIDS". That's up to the parents. Gore gore gore galore in this movie. Dogs being eaten, waking up in a tub full of limbs and heads [this part is very scary, for the face and expression may frighten kids], fingers chopped off, and a axe to the head. It is up to the parents, but i personally do NOT think this movie is as bad as people think.

Good...
I have seen this movie... i believe... 7 times. Saw it first at he age of 12 with my 10 year old sister. We loved the movie and waited forever for the second one. If everyone is so freaked about the gore get a life... its called a HORROR movie... restricting kids from movies actually makes kids want to see them more... If the kids really want to see the movie... trust me they will.

Please, get away from your computer this minute if you're weak hearted.
If you're squeamish, get the hell out of your computer this minute. You've been warned.Read at your own risk! And for those of you who are wondering,I have only seen the Unrated version of this movie on DVD since it was NC17 in the movies,so the content below might not be seen in the normal. These are the bloodiest/most disturbing scenes: One of the characters gets burned alive and this is from close range, his face melts and he flails about, someone tries to spray water on him but he gets burned to death and dies. Mutants are hacked many times with screwdrivers, knives and a flag throughout the film with lots of blood. Doug bashes a mutant four times in the head with a shotgun and shoots him three times,in the head, chest and body with copious blood spurting at every shot. Loads more. Lizard(the mutant guy) brutally rapes Brenda and we hear her screams its not done very graphically but good enough that it's enough to make a light hearted person pale faced The gas station attendant suicides, blowing his brains out with a shotgun,it explodes in a shower of blood and body matter. There is one scene where We see one of the mutants eating a dog's guts.It might not mean anything as it is very short and in the background but will disturb animal lovers. In the beginning,a few men are slaughtered violently with blood splatter and aggressive sound effects. You think this is over?Wrong, there's loads more,go watch it for yourself but seek your parents consent if you're under 16.I may have seen this when I was 9 but at least I didnt get desensitized by it.Know I shouldn't have though, but it's quite a cool film.
